Isabel Marks of Blyth passed away in Wingham on June 15, 2000 in her 74th year. Mrs. Marks was bom in Brussels on Feb. 23, 1927 and was the daugh­ ter of the late John and Jenny Jamieson. Mrs. Marks was a mem­ ber of the Blyth United Church. She was the beloved wife of Wellington T. Marks and dear moth­ er of Murray and Donna Marks of RRl, Belgrave, Judy and Bob Bell of Clinton and Ken and Annette Marks of RRl, Belgrave. She was the loving grandmother of Brian, Craig, T.J., Derek, Melissa, Rob and Tammy and was also loved by one great-grandson Dylan. Mrs. Marks is survived as well by three brothers Bob Jamieson of London, Ron Jamieson of St. Marys and Tom Sullivan of London and by half sister Florence Wright of London. She was predeceased by two infant sons James and Randy Marks, one granddaughter Charlene Marks, one sister Shirley Jamieson, four broth­ ers Bill, Sam, Jackie and Elmer Geo. She was elected to the position during last Thursday’s annual meet­ ing of the board. Jamieson, one half sister Lila Sullivan, and one half brother Bert Hicks. Friends were received at the Blyth Visitation Centre, 129 Queen St., Blyth on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service was held at the Blyth United Church on Monday, June 19, at 2:30 p.m. with interment in Brussels Cemetery. Rev. Ernest Dow officiated. Flowerbearers were Melissa Marks, Tammy Elliott and Tanya Franken. Pallbearers were Brian Marks, Craig Marks, T.J. Marks, Derek Marks, Rob Bell and Steve Elliott. Donations to the Canadian Diabetes or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Funeral entrusted to Beattie-Falconer Funeral Home Ltd., Clinton. Jane Elizabeth Prescott of Brussels passed away in New Hamburg on Sunday, June 4, 2000. She was in her 92nd year. Bom in Kirkham, Eng. on March 6, 1909, Mrs. Prescott was the Helen Rintoul was returned to the board as the representative for Ashfield and West Wawanosh Twps. Marie McIntosh returns as the Morris Twp. representative and Norm Fairies returns as the represen­ tative of Howick Twp. Bob Pike and Verna Steffler of Wingham returned for another two- year term of office. daughter of the late Joseph and Lydia Kirby and the beloved wife of the late Thomas Prescott. She will be sadly missed by her children Roy Prescott and wife Hang of Smith Falls, Brian Prescott and wife Sheila of Plantagenet, Eric Prescott and wife Vemice of RR3, Brussels, Trevor Prescott and wife Shirley of Formosa, Valerie Black and husband Wally of New Hamburg and Vernon Prescott of Chatham. She was the dear mother-in-law of Jean Prescott. Mrs. Prescott was also loved by her 20 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Cyril. Friends were received by the fam­ ily Tuesday at the Schimanski Family Funeral Home, Brussels where the funeral was conducted on Wednesday, June 7 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Nancy Beale of St. John’s Anglican Church officiating. Interment was in Brussels Cemetery. Pallbearers were Kevin Prescott, Peter Prescott, Paul Prescott, Daniel Prescott, Les Black and Brad Black. ELIZABETH MARIA VERWEY Mrs. Elizabeth Maria Verwey of RRl, Auburn, passed away in Clinton on June 17, 2000 in her 82nd year. Mrs. Verwey was bom in Oss, The Netherlands on Sept. 14, 1918 and was the daughter of the late Adrianus » and Anna Hartjes. Mrs. Verwey was a member of the Walkerbum Club. She was the beloved wife of the late Joe Verwey (1995). She was the dear mother of Casey and Debbie Verwey and John and Heather Verwey, all of RRl, Auburn. Mrs. Verwey was the loving grandmother of Shawn, Shane, Sandra, Jeremy, Josh and Jessica Verwey. She was the dear sister of Joe Hartjes of Coldwater and Renus Hartjes of Newmarket. She is also survived by two sisters and two brothers in The Netherlands. She was the dear sis­ ter-in-law of Huipe Verwey of Harriston. Pallbearers were grandsons Shawn Verwey, Shane Verwey, Jeremy Verwey, Joshua Verwey, as well as Jason MacLeod and Rick Patterson.
