Children get diplomas at Knox
On June 11 at Knox United the
following children received
FROM AUBURN
diplomas and seals for their
attendance at Sunday School.
First-year diplomas were given to
Danielle Bean, Alex Harman,
Zachary Harman, Marshall Dumin,
and Ethan Dumin. Second-year seals
went to Shelsie Popp, Janette
Plaetzer, Caroline McDowell,
Lauren Cronin and Lisa Carter.
Third-year seals were presented to
Adam Crozier and Jamie Plaetzer.
Jeffery Plaetzer got his fourth-year
seal. Michael McDowell and
Shawna Popp got the fifth-year
seals. Seventh year seals went to
Katie McClinchey, Adam Andrews
and Jonathon McDowell. Erika
Adams got an eighth-year seal and
ninth year seals were given to Ryan
McClinchey and Brett Bean.
Charlotte Worsell got a I Oth year
seal and thirteenth-year seal went to
Leanne Vincent.
Bibles were also presented to
Jocelyn Andrews and Jamie Plaetzer.
Congratulations goes not only to
the Sunday School students but to
the teachers.
Church service for the day was on
Refining fire - sustaining grace. The
promotion seals, awards and Bibles
were given to the Sunday School
pupils by the teachers. Pens were
also given by Patty Cronin.
Scripture from Acts 2 was about
the day of Pentecost when people
were filled with the Holy Ghost and
spoke in other languages. From John
15 the congregation heard of the
coming of the comforter - the spirit
of truth.
Rev. Paul Ross spoke on the days
before union which happened 75
years ago and Mrs. Ross played the
part of Lydia Gruchy, the first
ordained United Church woman
minister who had to fight to be
recognized as a minister.
Communion was celebrated. Larry
Plaetzer assisted.

The Lapp families attended the
22nd annual review of The Royal
Canadian Air Cadet Squadron at
Goderich District Collegiate on June
7 at 7 p.m. The Cadet Parade
Commander was their warrant
officer Christine Lapp.
There was a programme which
was enjoyed then awards were
presented to a number of cadets who
had excelled in that activity.
There were articles on display. A
reception and lunch brought the
evening to its close. Sergeant R.
Fisher of the Cadet Detachment,
London was guest for the evening.
Mrs. Joe Verwey is a patient at
Clinton Public Hospital. We are
pleased to know that there is
improvement now.
A community shower will be held
at Knox United Church basement on
Friday, June 23 for Donna Lynn
Armstrong.
Ell and Kay Lapp recently visited
Ken Peers at Oxford Centre and
Mrs. P. Burtis and her sister Mrs. S.
Anscombe of Norwich.
The WI meets on Junezl5 and goes
to Dorothy Schneider’s home after
business is completed.
The Lion's Club also meets on
June 15 and will be going to the
Blyth Festival.
Hullett council receives
Auxiliary penny auction.
Accounts totalling $425,286.08
were approved for payment.
Moving on
Jenna Rinn moved from Guide
to Pathfinder during a
ceremony at Blyth United
Church last week.
$452,000 in CRF monies
With $452,000 received from the
Community Reinvestment Fund
(CRF), Hullett councillors discussed
use options at the June 6 session.
The grant will be used to offset
costs of the farm tax rebate program,
lessen the impact of policing costs
above $90 per household and
replenish the lost revenue for the
gross receipts taxes.
The road construction and paving
program will receive $249,500.
Council agreed to use the 1999
CRF overpayment in the amount of
$ 17,309 to pay a portion of the cost
still owing on the new Blyth and
District Fire Department fire truck.
The final payment was $30,967.07.
There were no objections to two
severance applications brought
before council provided conditions
were met.
In both cases, surveys had to be
submitted, appropriate minor
variances or rezoning applied for if
required and the drainage <fct
implemented.
Council agreed to donate four t-
shirts to the Blyth Legion Ladies
NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING
CONCERNING A PROPOSED OFFICIAL
PLAN AMENDMENT AFFECTING THE
TOWNSHIP OF HULLETT
TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the County of
Huron and the Township of Hullett will hold a public meeting on
Tuesday, July 18, 2000 at 7:30 p.m. in the Hullett Township
Municipal Office in Londesboro to consider a proposed Official
Plan Amendment under Section 17 of the Planning Act. The
following item will be considered:
Official Plan Amendment No. 1
This proposed official plan amendment would add Section 5.3.1.9.
(agricultural consents) to the Hullett Township Secondary Plan.
Under certain conditions this amendment would permit the
severance of one residence, on a parcel of land of 21 hectares or
more, where there are two separate permanent residences which
were in existence prior to November 3, 1987.
ANY PERSON may attend the public meeting and/or make written
or verbal representation either in support or opposition to the
proposed official plan amendment. Written submissions for the
official plan amendment may be forwarded to J. A. Murray (address
below).
IF A PERSON or public body files a notice of appeal of a decision
in respect of the proposed official plan amendment to the Ontario
Municipal Board and does not make oral submissions at a public
meeting or does not make written submissions before the
proposed official plan amendment is adopted, the Ontario
Municipal Board may dismiss all or part of the appeal.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION relating to the proposed official plan
amendment is available for inspection during regular office hours
at the office of the Huron County Planning and Development
Department, Court House, Goderich, between 8:30 and 4:30 p.m.
If you wish to be notified of the adoption of the proposed official
plan amendment, you must make written request to the address
noted below.
