Obituaries RALPH ELDON MCNICHOL Mr. Ralph Eldon McNichoi for­ merly of McKillop Twp. passed away at his Seaforth residence on Tuesday, May 23, 2000. He was in his 81st year. Mr. McNichoi was the beloved husband of Anna (Somerville) McNichoi. He was the dear father of Don and Janet of Waterloo, Gary and Kelly of McKillop Twp., Neil and Cathy King and Marg and Bruce Lamont all of Seaforth. Ray and Linda of Listowel, Dianne and Jim Miller of Mitchell, Jim and Danica of Seaforth and Murray and Cathy and Larry and Kathy all of McKillop Twp. He is fondly remembered by 26 grandchildren and three great-grand­ children. Also surviving are his brother, Glen and wife Dorothy of Seaforth, and sisters, Wilma and husband Roy Wildfong of Mitchell. Carmetta and husband Con Hayes of Woodstock and Mildred Petley of London, sis­ ter-in-law, Grace Smith of Seaforth and daughters-in-law, Mary Anne McNichoi of Seaforth and Diane McNichoi of South Carolina. Mr. McNichoi was predeceased by his parents, Duncan and Olive (MacMurray) McNichoi. A family visitation was held on Wednesday, May 24 in the evening at the Whitney-Ribey Funeral Home in Seaforth, where a family funeral service was held on Thursday, May 25 at 2 p.m. Rev. Sheila Macgregor officiated. Pallbearers were Michael Hayes, Jeff Petley, David Wildfong, Brian Barry, Murray McCall and John Williamson. Carrying floral tributes were Joy McNichoi, Brianne McNichoi, Jacquie McNichoi, Lorianne Horan, Lindsay McNichoi, Sandra McNichoi and Kim Miller. Soloist was Eric Ross and piper was Nigel Moore. An Oddfellows memorial service was held on Wednesday, May 24 in the evening. Interment was at Maitlandbank Cemetery in Seaforth. Memorial donations to Cystic Fibrosis, Canadian Cancer Society, CNIB or Cavan United Church would be appreciated by the family as an expression of sympathy. ELSIE ISOBELLA SMITH Mrs. Elsie Smith of Brussels, for- - merly of Bluevale passed away at Seaforth Community Hospital, Seaforth on Saturday, May 27, 2000. She was 87. The former Elsie Thornton was the beloved wife of the late Alvin D. Smith who predeceased her in 1976. She was the dear mother of Eleanor and George McCulla of Kitchener and grandmother of Heather and Steven Newman of Waterloo, Philip and Nora McCulla of RR6, Simcoe and Alison and Keith Burrow of Kitchener. She is also survived by nine great­ grandchildren, her sister Eunice Marshall of Listowel and her brother Wilson and Dorothy Thornton of RR1, Bluevale. Mrs. Smith was predeceased by her sisters Beatrice Wickstead, Muriel McLean and Alice Jefferson. Visitation was at McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham on Monday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral service was held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Linda Young officiat­ ing. Interment was in Wingham Cemetery, Turnberry Twp. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or Bluevale Presbyterian’Church would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. RAYMOND ROBERT HOG­ GARTH Raymond Robert Hoggarth of Londesborough passed away at Seaforth Community Hospital on Sunday, May 20, 2000 in his 71 st year. Raymond Hoggarth was the beloved husband of Joan Hoggarth (Fowler) and dear father of Victor and his wife Mary of Tiverton, Brian of Virginia, U.S.A., Robert of Londesborough, Don of Atwood, Howard and his wife Kim of Wingham, and Gerald and his wife Shani Webb of Whitechurch. He is also survived by nine grand­ children and two great-grandchil­ dren. He was the dear son of Gladys Hoggarth (Freeman) of Huronview Clinton and brother of Douglas of Mount Forest. He was predeceased by his father Wilfred Hoggarth. At Raymond’s request there was no funeral home visitation. A memo­ rial service will be held at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Clinton on Friday, June 2 at 2 p.m. Interment will be at Bums Cemetery, Hullett Twp. Rev. Micholas Vandermey will officiate. Whitney-Ribey Funeral Home, Seaforth was entrusted with the arrangements. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church or the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation. IRVIN GEORGE BOWES Mr. Irvin George Bowes of Blyth. passed away at Clinton Public Hospital, May 15, 2000. He was 72. Mr. Bowes was bom in Hullett Twp. on July 24, 1927. He was the son of Christopher David Bowes and Amanda Watson. Mr. Bowes was a volunteer fire­ fighter with the Blyth Fire Department for 40 years, 30 as chief. He was also a member of the Blyth United Church. . He was the dear husband of the former Betty Glasby. He is survived as well by two daughters Maxine (John) Brush of Shakespeare and Connie (Vernon) Bromley of Blyth. He was the loved grandfather of Christine, Karen and Johnny Brush, Mandale and Mark Vogels, Aaron Bromley and fiance Jamie White and Russell Bromley-Bowes and a lov­ ing great-grandfather to Kaleb Vogels. He was also the dear brother of Rita and Jack Blake and Olive and Bodie Craig. Besides his parents Mr. Bowes was predeceased by one brother Arnold Bowes and one brother in infancy. Funeral services were held at the Blyth Visitation Centre on Wednesday May 17 with Rev. Cecil Wittich and Mr. George Mansfield officiating. Pallbearers were firemen Larry Bolger, Paul Kerr, Kevin Warwick, Doug Scrimgeour, David Sparling and Mike Moore. Fire Chief Paul Josling, Captain Frank Wilson and Past Deputy Chief Jim Howson formed an insignia guard. Carrying floral tributes were Herb Govier, Kevin Falconer, Clarence Bailie and Murray Black. Interment was at Blyth Union Cemetery.
