No, the moving van spotted in
the village on Saturday, April 1
was not an April Fool’s joke.
Furniture did arrive that day at
the former home of Wayne and
Temara Weber. Commitments
in Hamilton, their former place
of residence, and the birth of a
new grandchild delayed the mov-
ing in of new owners, Arthur
and Barbara Lester, untjl well into
May.
Arthur (from England originally)
and Barbara (from Ireland) arrived
in Canada in June of 1967. They had
been checking out various pieces of
real estate in this area for several
months before finding just what they
wanted here in Londesboro.
The Lesters plan to use the
workshop behind the house for their
upholstery business. Barbara Lester
Upholstery has had a window
display at Rivett’s in Goderich for
about a year.
Although claiming they want to
feel semi-retired for the summer
months and do a little fishing and
hiking, a sign advertising their
business is imminent.
