Choir sings at Knox
Steve Young greeted at Knox
United Church on Sunday, May 21.
The guest speaker, Bruce Whitmore
welcomed the congregation. The
senior choir sang Consider the Lilies
accompanied by Elizabeth Procter at
the piano.
Michelle Nixon and Melanie
Pletch looked after the nursery.
The scripture readings were taken
from Matthew 6: 8-14 and Luke 15:
11-24.
For children’s time Mr. Whitmore
read a story entitled Father's Day.
God’s Stand In was the topic for
the sermon. God is the most
important word in The Lord's Prayer
present tense, he said.
John Nixon and Joyce Vincent
took up the offering.

Camp Keewaydin
Up and over
Students at East Wawanosh school finally found a day of
good weather to hold their track and field meet last
Wednesday. (Pauline Blok photo)
Twenty-four girls from Belgrave Pathfinders attended a District Camp
Sparks, Brownies, Guides and and Camp Keewaydin on May 26-
28. They were joined by girls from
Wingham, Teeswater, Lucknow and
Ripley units.
Activities included a “Hug-a-
Tree” program by an OPP officer,
forestry activity, parachute games,
crafts, hikes, outdoor cooking
techniques and campfires.
The highlight of the weekend was
fireworks on the beach to celebrate
the Canadian Guiding’s 90th year. It
was great to see how well the girls
got along together.
