FROM CRANBROOK PEOPLE AROUND CRANBROOK By Peter Hagedoorn Call 887-6935 Rob and Laura Sheppard held a birthday party for daughter Morgan in the downstairs of the Cranbrook Hall which was attended by family and friends. North Huron Letting the light shine in Kathy Workman was brightening up the inside at Cranbrook Hall last Saturday, cleaning windows to let in the.glorious sunshine. The North Huron transition board began detailing the path towards amalgamation when they met April 20. Wingham Councillor Archie MacGowan was appointed chair of the committee and after a review of a procedural bylaw, the board agreed to adopt the rules of procedure in principle. A procedural bylaw will be drawn and circulated for the next meeting. Bill McGiath attended the session on behalf of the Huron Bruce Community Complex committee to seek the board’s approval of the project. Blyth Councillors Murray Nesbitt and Jeff Howsor? expressed concern that the village not support funding for the operating deficit. The board fully approved the complex but stated funding for capital spending would be the sole responsibility of Wingham. A bank account in the amount of $5,000, split apportionately between the three municipalities, will be opened at the CIBC in Wingham. Signing will be under the authorization of MacGowaa and either clerk-treasurer for Wingham and Blyth John Stewart or East Wawanosh Winona Thompson. John Skinner of Stratford was appointed lawyer for the board. The current employee benefit package for Wingham staff will be used as a guide for an invitation to tender. The tender package will be sent to Sun Life, Canada Life, Great-West Life and Manulife. Board members MacGowan, Wingham Deputy-Reeve Ron Beecroft, Howson and Stewart will investigate facilities for the North Huron office. HUNTINGTON Society Huntington du Canada y (Huntington Society of Canada Home Educators Art Fair to be held at The work day at the Cranbrook Hall took place last Saturday and much (but not all things) were accomplished. We thank all the members of the community who came to help out. On May 6 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. the Brussels Seaforth Christian Home Educators Art Fair 2000, will be held in the downstairs of the Cranbrook Hall. Art work in a variety of media done by the student^ will be on display. The community is welcome to come and Youths found On April 19 at approximately 8:30 p.m. two youths were found inside the Friendly Cafe in Ethel. The owner told police that a neighbour called advising him hall, May 6 see the works of art. If you have no other use for your KnechteT and Zehrs tapes, please save them for the Cranbrook Hall. They can be given to Sharon Evans or kept until the euchre parties at the Cranbrook hall start again in the fall when boxes are on site to drop the tapes in. We can get some income from these tapes. Last year we earned about $150 for the hall budget from these tapes. It is well worth saving them for the hall. in restaurant youths were inside the business. The youths were caught and turned over to police. Two 17-year-olds were questioned then charged with trespassing.
