fundraise
Congratulations to Blyth students
(and sometimes parents) for the
latest magazine campaign. A total
of $5,200 worth of magazines were
sold with over $1,600 going to the
school thus far. Monies earned will
be going for a new digital camera,
for classroom materials and to
defray busing costs for field trips.
Our thanks to all of you for the
hard work put forth!
Congratulations to kindergarten
student Christina Eckert who

It was Camping Sunday on April
20 at Blyth United Church.
Greeters were Fred Hakkers and
John Uyl. Ushering was Karen
Giousher, Ernie Phillips and Joanne
MacDonald. Barb Bosman was
organist. Tammy Root was in
charge of the nursery.
The Hymn of Praise was I’ve Got
Peace Like a River. Corine
Falconer treated the congregation
to a solo. She sang All Things
Bright and Beautiful and Behold.
Barbara Hicks read the Gospel
Lesson John 20: 19-31. Keith and
Allison Dow led the congregation
in the worship song. The Epistle
Lesson was I John I: 1-2:2.
The sermon was entitled A Joy to
Feel, A Job to Do. Rev. Ernest
Dow told of how the disciples’ fear
after Jesus crucifixion turned to joy
when they found out he was alive.
Christian camps may be the first
place for many in their walk of
faith with Jesus, he said. Rev. Dow
told the congregation that
“Christian camping is a natural way
to share the gospel subtly, but
powerfully.” For campers having
the opportunity to see Christ
working in the counsellors and staff
there can have an enormous impact.
John Uyl, Joanne MacDonald,
Ernie Phillips and Karen Giousher
collected the offering.
The service closed with the hymn
He Lives and the choral response
To God Be the Glory.
