Wawanosh make plans The transition board for the restructuring of the Twps. of Ashfield, Colborne and West Wawanosh held a meeting April 10 to get the work underway. The board will seek a legal opinion with regards to pecuniary interest to determine if there would be conflicts of interest in decisions made by the board. The question of insurance for the board will also be considered. The Waterloo firm of White, Duncan, Ostner and Linton were retained for legal advice for the life of the board. For much of the meeting, members dealt with staffing issues. It was sug­ gested one option would be to have five administrative staff, a person in charge of transportation and two School board transfers principals, vice-principals The Avon Maitland District School Board made more moves with its principal and vice-principal place­ ments. Vice-Principal Joe Jankowski of F. E. Madill Secondary School will moved to Listowel District, Mary Henry of LDSS will go to Madill and Jeff Reabum of Central Huron will be transferred to South Huron, Acting Vice-Principal Kevin Mills of Seaforth District was appointed foremen. There were concerns expressed that the larger territory for responsi­ bility of transportation might require more than one person to oversee. It was noted teamwork would be need­ ed to make the changes work. The administrative staff could include a clerk-administrator, treas­ urer and administrative assistants. The clerk and treasurer would work as deputies for each other. Members discussed the possibility of satellite sites with administrative assistants filling those positions. The board agreed mail-in voting for the next municipal election would not be implemented. The 2000 budget for Colborne Twp. was approved. vice-principal at Central Huron, teacher Jodie Baker will move from South Huron to acting vice-principal at St. Marys District Collegiate and Vocational Institute and Andy Marquette, acting vice-principal at St. Marys will assume the role of act­ ing principal. Stratford Central Principal Dave Hurley will move to Mitchell District and Pat Moore of St. Marys will go to Stratford Central. During the open forum, resident Marvin Scott said he disagreed with the rejection of the mail-in ballot idea.
