invites the submission of
tendered quotations to be
received by
THURSDAY, APRIL 20, 2000
5 P.M.
for the construction of two (2)
soccer fields in the area running
north of Sparling’s Propane and
adjacent to County Road 4 for a
distance of approximately 450 feet
and having a width of
approximately 500 feet.
Said fields are to run north-south,
starting 50 feet from the west end
and are to be 330 feet by 225 feet
each in dimension, with 50 foot
buffer strips between the road and
the first field, and between the two
fields (actual areas are presently
staked out for your inspection).
Work shall involve:
1. the relevant stripping of topsoil,
filling, levelling, grading, and the
replacement of topsoil in the field
areas to a condition suitable for
seeding.
2. the creation of a properly
graded and gravelled parking area
at the western end, adjacent to the
existing barn, running east-west.
Interested contractors are asked

send tenders. Any donated
considerations should be
included. Lowest or any tender
will not necessarily be awarded
the work.
Women receive
minor injuries
On April 8 shortly after 9:15 a.m.
a single vehicle collision occurred
on County Rd. 12 approximately
five kms. north of County Rd. 25 in
Grey Twp.
Tracy White, 22, of Brussels was
southbound when she lost control
of the vehicle on the slushy, ice-
covered roadway. The vehicle went
into a skid and slid off the road into
the ditch.
White along with her son Conner
Boisvert and Karen Cardiff, 65, of
Brussels were taken to Wingham
and District Hospital by
ambulance. Conner was not injured
but Tracy and her grandmother
received minor injuries.
No charges will be laid due to
weather and road conditions.

at euchre party
The last euchre party this spring
season was held at the Cranbrook
Community Hall. Twelve tables
were in play. Thanks for organizing
goes to Nancy Vanass, John Vanass
and Laura Shepherd.

tender
At the April 3 meeting of Grey
Twp. council, the tender of Hanna
and Hamilton Construction at
$2.14/tonne for the crushing and
hauling of 30,000 metric tonnes A
gravel to the roads in the north half
of the Township was accepted. The
Hanna and Hamilton tender, which
also includes the crushing and
stockpiling of 5,000 tonnes of A
gravel amounted to $77,170 in total
and was the lowest of three tenders
received.
Chief Building Official Grant
Anger presented his 1999 building
report which indicated that 74
permits with a combined value of
$2,852,020 were issued in 1999
compared to 93 permits and a
combined value of $4,195,099 in
1998.
A grant of $125 was authorized
to the Blyth Festival.
Council approved for payment
accounts totalling $47,031.21.
The next regular meeting is
scheduled for April 17 at 7 p.m.
and Evelyn are healthy and doing
well. It is the parents who need rest
and support.
