at York University Invitational

One local athlete was among four
F. E. Madill track and field competi
tors who brought home medals when
the team travelled to Toronto recent
ly to compete in the York University
Invitational.
Laura Meier placed third in the
junior girls triple jump with a leap of
9A1 metres. She also ran the 400-
metre in 1:06.94 minutes.
Kerri Meier placed eighth in the
midget girls 400-metre with a time
of 69 seconds and eighth in the 60-
metre, running it in 8.42 seconds.
Amanda Palmer finished 12th in
the junior girls 60-metre in a time of

8.55 seconds.
In the junior boys division,
Andrew Garland earned a fifth in
shot put with a distance of 12.47
metres and Myron Hussey competed
in the long jump with a best jump of
5.05 metres and triple jump at 10.71
metres.

former Agricultural Minister Jack Riddell presented certifi
cates at the annual hockey banquet to the OMHA champi
onship Blyth Bulldog Midgets. Dave Ansley accepts his cer
tificate while Kathy Bromley looks on.
