The children came to the front and Rev. Paul Ross spoke to them about superstitions and that there was no need of it. Scripture was from Numbers 21. People were being bitten by fiery serpents and dying. Moses was told by God to make a serpent of brass which would help save souls. The New Testament reading was from John 3. Here Nicodemus was told that because God loved the world He gave his Son so that anyone believing in Him has everlasting life. The sermon was on Superstition or Belief. “What good is superstition?” Rev. Ross asked. “It is much better to believe. God gave you His word and His only son to tell you to believe in Him. Trusting in God’s word can give you peace and everlasting life.” Offering was received and presented by Gregory Park and Wayne Carter. Stratford hosts Presbyterial Huron Perth Presbyterial meets at Central United, Stratford on April 5 beginning at 6:30 p.m. The roast beef country supper will be held on April 5 at Knox United, Auburn at 5:30 and 7 p.m. Advance tickets are needed for the 5:30 sitting. Londesboro’s annual Songfest is April 9 at 7:30 p.m. Betsy Verwey has returned home from Clinton Public Hospital and is slightly improved. She will go to London to the specialist again on Tuesday.
