The Palliative Care crew had a great celebration that day with good food, toe-tapping music and lots of enthusiastic people to celebrate St. Paddy. The work of palliative care is to help us live fully until we die - not the mournful idea that is prevalent - that death is now. This yearly luncheon is a good way to increase awareness for this rewarding work - palliative care. The folks at Huronlea enjoyed the extra company on Wednesday, so lots of stories were exchanged, lots of laughter shared and it seems some were seen dancing a modified jig. Was that you Glenna Stephens? Eleanor Hemingway is back from holidays. She has the relatives checked out in Aylmer and brought back a tan from Florida. She’s ready for spring. A set of hand bells was dedicated at the United Church on Sunday in memory of Luella Mitchell. She would have approved of the service, lots of kids learning and sharing. We’ll think of her every time a song is accomplished, her love of music and friends. Hello to Ralph Pearson and Bruce Clark. We’re thinking of you as you’re on the mend. And the kids are back in school ready for the spring session. It was so good to see them last week with the bikes, blades, buggies and sticks in action. Yes spring is in the air. If you’re going through Cranbrook on Wednesday and don’t know where to put Kathy Workman’s birthday present, just leave it by the tree. She’ll probably have it decorated so you’ll know where to put your tasteful gift. She’s not pension age yet. Enjoy the lengthening days. Bye now, Betty G.
