HomeMy WebLinkAboutThe Citizen, 2000-03-08, Page 19(Obituaries JOHN MARTIN GRIGG CARMICHAEL Mr. John Carmichael of Wingham passed away at Wingham and District Hospital. Wingham on Friday, March 3. 2000. He was 63. He was the beloved husband of the former Doris King and dear father of Grace Carmichael and friend John Grummett of London. Don and Pam Carmichael of London, Nancy and Dwayne Rivett of Dungannon, Joey Carmichael of London and Judy and Larry Sowerby of Saltford. He was the brother of Mabel Schaus of Grimsby, Edna and Garry Machan of Listowel and brother-in-law of Lundy Priestap of Mitchell. Mr. Carmichael is also survived by five granddaughters and three grandsons. He was predeceased by his parents James and Wilma (Grigg) Carmichael and his sister Lillian Priestap. Visitation was at the McBumey Funeral Home, Wingham on Sunday from 6 - 9 p.m. Funeral service was held at the funeral home on Monday at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Cathrine Campbell officiating. Interment is in Brandon Cemetery, East Wawanosh Twp. Memorial donations to Huron- Perth Lung Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympa­ thy. STEVEN DALE WALSH Mr. Steven Dale Walsh of Blyth passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2000 in his 47th year. Steven was bom on Feb. 20, 1954. He was the loving companion of Maryanne Fitzgerald and loving father of Patrick Walsh, Benjamin Walsh, William Fitzgerald, Amanda Fitzgerald, Tammy and Adam Hamilton, Corrina Walsh and Ashley Walsh. He was the cherished grand­ father of Dalton and Owen Hamilton and Zachary Walsh and dearly loved son of Audrey Walsh of Clinton. Steven was the dear brother of Larry and Barbara Walsh of Tillsonburg, Ron and Doreen Walsh of North Bay and Marlene and Danny Bums of Mississauga. He is also loved by several nieces and nephews. Steven was predeceased by his father Ben Walsh. Friends were received at the Blyth Visitation Centre on Friday evening from 7 - 9 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral service which was held on Saturday, March 4 at 2 p.m. Rev. Ernest Dow officiated. Cremation with interment of ashes is at Blyth Union Cemetery. Memorial donations to Clinton Public Hospital Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Beattie-Falconer Funeral Homes, Clinton. jean McPherson fairser­ vice Mrs. Jean McPherson Fairservice of Goderich and formerly of Blyth passed away at Alexandra and Marine General Hospital, Goderich on Wednesday, March 1, 2000 in her 81 st year. Jean was bom in Middlesbrough, York, England on June 7, 1919. She was the daughter of the late James and Rhoda Byers. Jean joins her hus­ band Scott and daughter Maralyn. She is fondly remembered by her son Alan of Newmarket and his wife Janis, her grandchildren Drew and Holly Fairservice of Newmarket, her sisters Elsie Harding and Margaret Harrop of London, England. She will be missed as well by close friend and cousin Alan Ward of England and sister-in-law Betty Youngblut of Goderich. At Jean’s request there was no vis­ itation or funeral service. Memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Arthritis Society. Arrangements were entrusted to Beattie-Falconer Funeral Homes, Clinton. FENNA hulzebosch Mrs. Fenna Hulzebosch of Holland Homes, Brampton and for­ merly of Blyth passed away on Feb. 28, 2000 in her 87th year. Fenna was bom on Dec. 23, 1913 in Ambt Hardenberg, The Netherlands to the late Hendrik and Fennigje Hofsink. She was the beloved wife of the late Zwier Hulzebosch. She will be missed by two sisters and five sisters-in-law in Holland, sister-in-law Alie Sendink of Burlington and brother-in-law Herman and Willy Hulzebosch of Burlington. She will be missed by good friends Frits and Grace Datema, Auburn and remembered by many nieces and nephews. Visitation was held one hour prior to the funeral service at the Blyth Christian Reformed Church, Blyth on Thursday, March 2. Rev. Adrian VanGeest officiated. Pallbearers were John Sandink, Albert Sandink, Henry Sandink, Zwier Sandink, Luke Sandink and Arnold Hulzebosch. Interment is at Blyth Union Cemetery.
