play at the Women’s Institute Hall
on Wednesday, March 1.

second high man, Jim Coultes; lone

The Campbell families of
Belgrave held a birthday party for
brothers Bruce, Allan, Lome and
sister Ivy Cloakey. Also celebrating
were Dean Campbell of Cambridge
and Wayne McDowell both
celebrating 40 years.
A supper was held on Saturday,
March 4 at Westfield Hall. Over 50
friends and relatives enjoyed a
meal complete with birthday cake
and gifts. Best wishes were
received by the Campbells and
McDowells.

Melissa Whitmore welcomed the
congregation.
The senior choir sang Jesus Is
Lord of All accompanied by
Elizabeth Procter.
For children’s time the children
sang If You're Happy and You
Know It. Miss Whitmore asked the
children what made them happy.
The sermon followed the same
theme as children’s time. Miss
Whitmore said that God can make
you happy if you rely on him.
Steve Nixon and John Dorsch
took up the offering.
Choir hosts
church social
The Belgrave United Church
choir social was held on Monday
evening, Feb. 28 in the church
schoolroom. Five tables of
members played Court Whist and
prizes went to George and
Elizabeth Procter and Lillian
Campbell and Ross Anderson.
A delicious pizza lunch was
served including cake and ice
cream.
Ross and Barbara Anderson were
presented with a gift and photo for
their many years in the choir. Ruth
Gordon composed and read a poem
noting their combined 100 years as
choir members. Organist Elizabeth
