Council hears event proposal
The village of Blyth may have
another big event to draw visitors
to the community this August.
Brian Love attended the Feb. 23
council session to inquire about
renting the Thresher’s Park, camp
grounds and arena for a family-ori
ented recreational vehicle and
motorcycle flea market and show,
Aug. 19-20.
Love told councillors the event
could feature a barbecue, dance,
flea market, display and auction
sale.
The flea market would include all
makes and models of recreational
vehicles and motorcycles as well as
parts and accessories.
The two-day show would be
open to the public Saturday from 8
a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 8
a.m. to 6 p.m.
Under the rental agreement, the
tenant would be responsible for all
liability insurance and shall leave
the premises in the same conditions
as prior to the show.
Clerk-Treasurer John Stewart
was instructed to determine if the
proposed dates were available and
to work with Love regarding a pro
posal for rental fees for the various
areas.
