Kathy MacDonald was in charge of the nursery. The service began with the procession of Flags and Scout/Guide groups. The hymn of praise was Praise to the Lord, the Almighty. The sermon was entitled Why Be Positive. Rev. Ernest Dow showed how Christianity, and Scouting and Guiding share the emphasis of being positive. Scouting and Guiding teaches them to take their turn and pitch in together on projects. Everything goes so much faster when we work together as a team.” Following the sermon were the scout/guide group promises. Each group stood up to recite their creed. This was followed by the United Church Creed. The ushers took up the offering. The service closed with the Flags Recess to the hymn Take my Life and Let It Be. The Scout/Guide groups’ recessional was during the choral response.
