A court of revision will be held March 2. A request for maintenance of the Breckenridge drain was accepted. The township will apply for a grant for drain maintenance in 2000-2001 in the amount of $100,000. Art Clark of Maitland Engineer­ ing Services discussed the closure of the current area of use at the landfill site. The earliest it could be closed is June. Council agreed to continue to use the site as long as possible and pre­ pare the new area for the fall. A per tonnage rate for Brussels was discussed but considered unnecessary. The disposal of waste agreement with Brussels will be extended to Jan. 1, 2001, with the village paying 50 per cent of appli­ cable costs. A letter will be sent to Howson and Howson explained that milling fines will be applicable to tipping fees, as all other waste. Brussels and Carter Waste Dis­ posal will be told that no more cardboard will be accepted in the household waste and must be recy­ cled. Council agreed to change the name of McLean Line to Button Line as the original name is in con­ flict with one in Tumberry Twp. If Button Line is in conflict, Lattimer Line will be used. Never enter a smoky corridor or stairway. Always protect yourself from smoke. On Feb. 27 at 8 p.m. Huron OPP officers were contacted over a break-in to a dance hall in McKillop Twp. on Cone. 12. The owner of the Family Paradise Camp told police that he had been away that day. When he returned the dance hall building situated on the property had been forced open by prying open a door. Once inside a fire had been set inside a cleaning closet in the kitchen area. The fire was put out with little damage done to the building. The OPP requests the help of the public. Anyone with information is asked to call the OPP or Crime Stoppers at l-800-222-8477(TIPS). Car hits fence in East Wawanosh GrOlwl • To FIRE! On Feb. 25, at approximately 8:15 a.m. a 1986 Pontiac Parisienne left the roadway and struck a fence on the west side of the road in East Wawanosh. The operator of the vehicle left the scene but was later found by man. Police found a quantity of empty beer bottles scattered about the scene. The 36-year-old man from Morris twp. has been charged with a liquor-related offence and several Highway Traffic Act offences. He will attend court in Wingham on April 27.
