A Note from Betty
Well, more good news. Before the ink was dry on last week’s paper Jean
Workman got moved into Huronlea. Just like Jean to get it done before the
neighbours clued in. So welcome Jean, it’s good to have you back on Tory
Hill.
Jane DeVries will be having a quiet week recalling the good memories of
her birthday party and of the ones that have gone before. Way to be Jane.
Be sure to mark next Wednesday on your calendar. Go to the public
school at 7:30 p.m. and support the musical talents of all our young friends.
The Seaforth Marching Band is coming to support the music program and to
show the talent we have in Huron County. Go and hear the music.
Feb. 3 is now on my permanent calendar as a quiet day, the day my friend
Pat Watson died. Pat was an example of the quiet folk. You know the sort.
Someone who can set an example for the rest of us. She was the rock in the
storm steady as she went, giving the rest of us a reason to strive higher for
what we believe. She would quietly sit there and wait for us to do the right
thing. What a strategy - what a woman!
Feb. 3 is also the day seven years ago that Sherry Souch died - a young
vivacious woman who could make you smile just by the twinkle in her eye.
And so Feb. 3 will always be my quiet day, a time to appreciate these
special women, Pat and Sherry, and how they made life better by their
example.
The snowmobile folk are smiling as the fluffy stuff keeps coming and has
started to make their trails enjoyable.
Remember to give Jack Cardiff and Ken Graber a birthday kiss next
Monday.
Bye now,
Betty G.
