baptize Him.
Rev. Ross’s sermon was Off to a
Good Start. He spoke about
baptism. When parents baptize a
little one it is their promise to God
to bring that child up in God’s way.
Some are baptized much older
and they promise to follow the
Lord’s Way.
Offering was received by Laura
May Chamney and Elva
Armstrong.
The congregation went
downstairs for refreshments after
the service.

Brussels,
In end-to-end play which kept
both goalies busy, Brussels doubled
up the Blyth Tykes Purple squad
last Thursday.
Brussels got on the board quickly
when Matt Huether popped in two
during his first shift. Brussels
goalie Nic Gowing was kept mov
ing as he deflected shots away from
the crease.
Blyth drew closer at 10:21 of the
first when a shot slipped between
Gowing’s pads.
Huether put Brussels up by two
with his natural hattrick when he
slid one in at 21:16 of the second
frame. Brendan Stretton took a pass
from Ryan Baker to close out the
scoring in the 4-2 win.
Blyth netminder Matt Chalmers
was very good in net, stopping
many breakaways and shots in
close.
In the second game of the home
and home series, Blyth visited
Brussels Saturday morning. Once
again, the matchup resulted in an
exciting game with great shots

action in front of the goal.
Blyth narrowly missed taking the
lead with a hard shot off the post.
Brussels broke the stalemate at
4:17 of the first when hard work by
Sebastian at centre got the puck to
Huether who took it in for the net-
ter.
Huether struck again just over a
minute later taking the puck from
his own end and poking it over the
line on a wraparound shot.
