Huron snag may be resolved By Janice Becker Citizen staff Blyth Clerk-Treasurer John Stewart told council he is hopeful that amendments made to the North Huron amalgamation plan may finally get over the hurdle of coun­ ty approval. Stewart brought councillors up­ to- date at the Jan. 31 meeting, telling them of meetings with the North Huron group, the Huron County Strategic Planning commit­ tee as well as consultation talks with County Administrator Lynn Murray and Dr. Gary Davidson of the planning department. Changes were recommended in the amalgamation plan which cov­ ered the police services board. Council to move on PUC issue By Janice Becker Citizen staff With the deadline for a decision on PUC restructuring set for Feb. 29, Blyth council agreed to move ahead as soon as possible to reach a decision. Reeve Mason Bailey, Councillor Jeff Howson and Clerk-Treasurer John Stewart attended a meeting in Seaforth last week where numerous representatives from across the county gathered to hear a presenta­ tion from Acres International about a joint venture. In reviewing the meeting, How- son told councillors at the Jan. 31 session, that in his personal opinion there is only one option for small municipalities such as Blyth and that is to sell. JCeith and SuAan Stay NOTICE TO DOG OWNERS IN THE VILLAGE OF BLYTH 2000 Dog tags are now available at the Municipal office. All dogs must be licensed in compliance with Village By-law No. 02-1997. A complete copy of the by-law is available at the Municipal Office. An owner or boarder of a dog(s) shall within 10 days of becoming such an owner or boarder, and thereafter on or before the 15th day of February each year shall cause such dog(s) to be again licenced for one year. The fee schedule shall be as follows: a) For each neutered male or spayed female dog $20.00 b) For each additional neutered male or spayed female dog $25.00 c) For each male or female dog, if only one per household $30.00 d) For each additional male or female dog $40.00 e) Pitbulls and Pitbull Cross $100.00 A $15.00 late payment charge shall be assessed in addition to the licence fee. Proof of Rabies Vaccination must be available at the time of purchase. The by-law requires dog owners to forthwith remove excrement left by the dog anywhere in the municipality of the Village of Blyth. Any person contravening this provision is subject to a $50.00 administration fee.
