With an increasing number of
retirements in the school system,
the Huron-Perth Catholic District
School Board began looking at
ways to recruit staff at it Dec. 13
meeting.
In a proactive stance, Fran Craig,
curriculum/program co-ordinator,
made a presentation to the board
outlining methods which will be
used to promote the system and
attract more applicants.
The teachers recruitment com
mittee will visit six faculties before
the end of February to make the
presentation to generate interest in
the Huron-Perth system.
Several collective agreements
were approved including the
board/principal/vice-principal, to
run through 2000; board/ executive
assistant, 2001; board/supervisory
officer, 2001; board/managers,
2001 and board/CUPE, 2001. The
lunch hour monitor salary was set
at $10 per hour.
The board accepted the resigna
tions of Lori Bridge and Mercedes
Gagnon effective Dec. 31 and Ger
ald Mohr, as of June 30.
Jim Steffler was appointed prin
cipal of Sacred Heart in Wingham
from Jan. I to June 20 and Diana
Hayle was hired as a custodian on
Dec. 3.
Jim Hurley was congratulated for
winning the OFSAA Award for
Leadership in school sport.
