YOUR NEWSPAPER: The link to your community With an increasing number of retirements in the school system, the Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board began looking at ways to recruit staff at it Dec. 13 meeting. In a proactive stance, Fran Craig, curriculum/program co-ordinator, made a presentation to the board outlining methods which will be used to promote the system and attract more applicants. The teachers recruitment com­ mittee will visit six faculties before the end of February to make the presentation to generate interest in the Huron-Perth system. Several collective agreements were approved including the board/principal/vice-principal, to run through 2000; board/ executive assistant, 2001; board/supervisory officer, 2001; board/managers, 2001 and board/CUPE, 2001. The lunch hour monitor salary was set at $10 per hour. The board accepted the resigna­ tions of Lori Bridge and Mercedes Gagnon effective Dec. 31 and Ger­ ald Mohr, as of June 30. Jim Steffler was appointed prin­ cipal of Sacred Heart in Wingham from Jan. I to June 20 and Diana Hayle was hired as a custodian on Dec. 3.
