Brussels Livestock report
666 head of cattle, 174 lambs on offer
Total receipts at Brussels
Livestock for the week ending Dec.
30, 1999 were 666 head of cattle
and 174 lambs and goats.
The fed steers and heifers sold on
a good strong active trade. Cows
sold steady. On Thursday veal sold
on a good strong active trade. Heavy
Iambs sold fully steady with new
crop lambs sold on a easier market.
There were 296 steers on offer
selling $102 to $110 with sales to
$114.75. Two limousin steers con
signed by Howard Martin. Brussels,
averaging 1,312 lbs. sold to
Norwich Packers for $114.75 with
his overall offering of twenty-one
steers averaging 1,364 lbs. selling
for an average of $107.83. One gold

lbs. sold for an average of $101.67
with sales to $105.75. Five steers
consigned by Gordon Hopkins,
Hanover, averaging 1,500 lbs. sold
for an average of $100.99 with sales
to $103.50. Six steers consigned by
Geo. Weber, Wroxeter, averaging
1,475 lbs. sold for an average of
$99.61 with sales to $103.75.
Fifteen steers consigned by Bob
Rice, Staffa, averaging 1,620 lbs.
sold for an average of $99.23 with
sales to $ 104.
There were 67 heifers on offer
selling from $102 to $110 with sales
to $118.25. One charolais X heifer
consigned by Hugh Love, Atwood,
weighing 1,090 lbs. sold for $118.25
to Norwich Packers with his overall
offering of fifteen heifers averaging
1,218 lbs. selling for an average of
$107.16. One red brockle face heifer
consigned by Jim and Les
Stephenson weighing 1,285 lbs. sold
to Norwich Packers for $113 with
their overall offering of two heifers
averaging 1,285 lbs. selling for an
average of $109.75.

Crime of the Week
The suspect vehicle smashed into
five other cars and quickly fled the
scene after causing several
thousand dollars in damage. The
suspect vehicle was observed
continuing north out of Wingham
and is known to have sustained
heavy damage to the right front and
side areas.
