At the Branch
September busy month
Ah sweet September. The month
that gives you pause. The month that
is mellow while purposeful. The
month that reminds you of the cycle
•of life.
As we pack away the memories of
summer, it’s good to stop and think
of the many blessings that once again
were ours The gathering of family
for tun or function and taking time to
recall your younger days the good
and the had. That’s a good summer
thing.
Memory can be selective but it’s
family that will make it the truth. As
the bathing suits get shelved the
memories of rafts and docks and
floating get another smile.
Swimming lessons are history and
the water is now very quiet. The
extra flashlights and candles for
camping take on a new spot as the
hours without hydro in August make
this memory quite significant.
So the summer of 2003 is but a
pleasant memory and each of us
keeps our own special ones.
The books are dusted off, the
crayons are in their packs and the
smiles are all around as the children
start a new year of education. Our
hope is that it’s a good year for
everyone as the years of school help
in learning new skills, making new
friends and becoming a productive
and personable part of our society.
Here’s to a good year -
kindergarten or university.
Returning last week
Algonquin what we noticed
Turnberry Street was the new paint
on the storefronts, the blooming
baskets and planters and the new
events sign. Looks like a pretty fine
place to live.
Bye now, Betty G.W.
