over from those times.
S - She was a great teacher, but
she said she could take us to the
University of Waterloo for a science
trip. But she never did.
H - Those fun trivia games make
up for it though.
S - Yeah, I guess they did, and
other fun times we had this year
were with this rookie teacher. Mr.
Vercruyssen. Like when we always
teased him about being short.
H - Was he good as a coach as he
was a teacher?
S - Yeah, he was. See, we helped
him with coaching soccer, but some
how he knew how to coach basket
ball and here is a quote that I think
best suits Mr. Vercruyssen. Hard
work beats talent when talent does
n’t work hard.
H - Now for the oldest teacher at

S - I’ve had her for two.
H - For the three years I have had
Mrs. Reynolds, she has taught me
many important things. In Grade 5
she taught me how to speak in front
of the class, in Grade 7 she taught
me not to be a worry wart. And this
year she taught me I could do any
thing. I owe her much for the life’s
lessons and memories. I wouldn’t
have had them without her.
S - Actually I owe Mrs. Reynolds
a lot too. She has taught me a lot of
stuff in the past four years. She has
taught me how to use the skills God
gave me, like leadership qualities.
She has been a great teacher and I
think most of us will miss her very
much, along with many other teach

finding my way around, knowing
people I like and that people like me.
I’m going to miss everything that I
won’t be able to take with me to
high school, including some friends.
But what I will be able to take
with me are memories, and those are
more important than even another
year at Seaforth Public.
S - This is the last time we will be
together in an environment like this.
Next year we will be splitting up and
going to CHSS, St. Anne’s and
Mitchell.
H - Yes, but moving forward and
going our separate ways is part of
growing up.
S - Hilary, do you know what the
best way to predict your future is?
H - What is it, Scott?
S - To create it.
H - I think it was Abraham
Lincoln who said: The best thing
about the future is ...
S - That it only comes one day at
a time.
