surprised visit from Paul, Wendy
and Kelsy Cartwright from London
to help Grace celebrate Mother’s
Day.
Meeting the challenge
Sixty seniors gathered at Belgrave community centre May 6 to participate in a cribbage

May 21 at 7:15 p.m. The Silver Tops
meeting is on May 21.
Lois Haines and Frances Clark
spent Mother’s Day with Ron and
Margaret Livermore in Fordwich.
They had a very nice supper.
Bernice Anderson and Greg and
Nancy Park went to William
Anderson’s in Newmarket to
celebrate Mother’s Day.
The card party on Thursday at the
Clinton Lawn Bowling Club had
seven area ladies attending. Mildred
Lawlor was the high lady and
Evelyn Christensen was low man.
Condolences to the family of Ann
Sprung on her recent passing.

Club
meets
.Ila Cunningham welcomed the
members of the Walkerbum Club to
her home on May 5. Ten members
braved the rainy weather.
Vera Penfound opened the meeting
with the poem The Country Road.
This was followed by The Lord’s
Prayer.
Betty Archambault read the
minutes of the last meeting and took
the roll call, which was answered
with a favourite flower. Bernice
Norman gave the treasurer’s report.
Mrs. Cunningham handed out
more patches for the nine block
square quilt, and received some
finished ones as well. The next
meeting will be held on Monday,
June 9, at the home of Eileen
McClinchey. Mrs. Cunningham will
be in charge of the program and
Jacquie McKee will be in charge of
lunch.
Mrs. McClinchey gave out the new
cookbooks, which were made by her
daughters.
Everyone was reminded about the
community picnic on Sunday, June
22 at the Auburn ball diamond at
12:30 p.m.
Audrey Boonstoppel was
auctioneer for the plant sale.

Rev. Ted Nelson’s message was
God’s Precioius Gift. The readings
were Ecclesiastes 5: 1-5, Ephesians
3: 14-21 and Matthew 19: 13-15.
Kayden Bradley Bell, great-
grandson of Laura May and Bud
Chamney was baptized.
The junior choir and the Durnin
Brothers provided the musical
entertainment.
