Little do the corporation directors know, Mrs. Partridge will prove to be a better businesswoman than even she could have predicted. With the help of her secretary, the mail boy and former president of the compa­ ny, Edward McKeever, played by Zach Schraeder, they create quite a stir at General Products Incorporated! The cast includes Erin Jamula, Nathaniel Bakker, Mitchell Nieuwland, Kevin Pole, John Lalonde, Taylor Graham, Mary Frances Frayne, Sara Cooper, Erik Huron Tourism Finlayson, Beth Brudnicki, Robyn Strangway, Angela Dalton, Zach Schraeder, Ben Scholton, Tonia Middleditch, Kate Thomas and Sarah Hammond. The Solid Gold Cadillac, will be playing on Wednesday, April 23, Friday, April 25 and Saturday, April 26 at 7 p.m. There will also be a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday, April 27. Tickets are $7 for students and $10 for adults and are available at the doors or by phoning the school at 482-5454 ext. 385. The new musical is largely responsible for a 200 per cent increase in ticket sales com­ pared to last season’s figures during the month of April. Ticket buyers have until April 30 to realize savings of 15 per cent off regular ticket prices by purchasing at the special voucher prices. These vouchers offer patrons the opportu­ nity to purchase tickets in packages of two or four at a reduced cost. After May 1, single ticket prices are in effect. Blyth Festival Artistic Director Eric Coates is thrilled about the sales increase. “The support that we receive from our audience and com­ munity inspires our creative process enormously. Visit the new website at www.blythfestival.com presents At the 14th annual Tourism Event and Brochure Swap, held on April 2 in Holmesville, the 2003 Blyth Festival Tourism Development Award was presented to the Heritage and Cultural Partnership and Pamela Hall Grusska, co-ordinator. In the past, the receiver of the award has been chosen by the previ­ ous year’s recipient. This year, nom­ inations for the award by the Huron Tourism Association membership were received. This year’s winner, the Heritage and Cultural Partnership, consoli­ dated efforts to bring Huron County’s rich heritage and fascinat­ ing culture together to form them into a unique self-guided tour of over 50 sites throughout the county. Copies of the brochure are available at the Huron County Museum and local tourism information centres and libraries. Under the expert guid­ ance of Pamela Hall Grusska and her committee, this project has become a forerunner for the devel­ opment of similar projects through­ out the province. This tourism development award began 10 years ago in 1993 as an initiative from Blyth Festival to rec­ ognize businesses and organizations that have shown excellence in pro­ ducing a positive experience in the development of tourism in Huron County. Past honorees have included, The Huron County planning and devel­ opment department, Benmiller Inn, awards Huron County Playhouse, Maple Leaf Motel, Huron Community Futures Corporation, Maitland Mill Association, Wingham Town Hall Heritage Theatre, Shayrina Sheep Farm, Brentwood on the Beach, Huron County Museum and Tourism Goderich.
