We give thanks to God for hearing and answering our prayers this weekend. My sons and I were left stranded in the water, clinging to a branch of a tree that , had fallen in the river, when our canoe became tangled up in the same tree and sank. Very special thanks to my son Cody who was able to swim to shore and get to Rob Miller’s farmhouse for help. We are very thankful to Rob Miller who came quickly with a rope, and then bravely jumped in the water and saved Jesse by catching him and getting him to shore. Many special thanks to the Grey Twp. Fire Department volunteers who came with a rope and pulled me to shore. Thanks to the Millers for opening their home to us, and also thanks to both the Millers and the Fire Department for trying to get us warm. Thanks to the ambulance drivers and attendants for beginn ing treatment for the hypothermia and to the staff at Wingham and District Hospital for completing the hypothermia treatment. The care was excellent. This is a great community of caring people. We are all here today by the grace of God. - Dave, Cody and Jesse Rapson. 15-1 SOMERVILLE. I wish to thank everyone who visited me, sent cards and the delicious diabetic chocolates while I was a recent patient in Wingham hospital. Also thanks for those delicious meals, cookies and biscuits bought to the apartment, to those who prayed for my return to health - your prayers have been answered, for the good care from the doctors and nurses at Wingham hospital, and to those of my family who took me to the hospital and then brought me home again. Last but not least, thanks to my daughter, the homecare ladies and the wonderful people at the Gypsy Lane apartments. I don’t know what I would have done without you.
