The champs
The new 4-H club in Wawanosh
held its first meeting, Explore 4-H,
on March 12 at the home of June
Robinson.
To start the meeting they played
20 questions and guessed different
topics available in 4-H. This was
followed up with an introduction of
the 4-H pledge and motto.
They also tested their abilities to
work together by attempting to build
houses made of marshmallows and
toothpicks. The director was only
able to instruct and the others could
only use their right hand or their left
hand to build.

Darters
A few Auburn-area residents have
been playing in the Friday night dart
league in Kitchener. The league
season has ended with Andy
Lubbers, John Verwey and fellow
teammates winning the premier
division. In the ladies division,
second place went to the team of
PEOPLE AROUND
AUBURN
Each group was successful in
building some kind of house but
Meagan Pletch, Ellen Jefferson, and
Reba Jefferson had the most
impressive one.
Next they elected their officers for
this club. Sophie Jefferson is
president and Reba Jefferson is
vice-president. They decided to
have both a revolving secretary and
press reporter.
Members are to bring ideas for a
club title page to the next meeting.
After their meeting pages were
completed they swam in the
Robinson’s oool.

Post-season division tournaments
have started with four-person teatns
competing Friday, March 21. Andy
Lubbers’ team placed second in the
premier’s division and Elaine
Fraser’s team also finished second in
the ladies.
Auburn United Church Sunday
School is holding a roast beef
country dinner on Wednesday, April
2 with two sittings at 5:30 and 7 p.m.
The next Auburn Lions Club
meeting will be held on Wednesday,
April 2 at 7:15 p.m.
The next Lions breakfast will be
held on April 13 from 9 a.m. to noon.

March 28 was division doubles. In
the premier division John Verwey
and his partner Norm Wiley finished
first and in the ladies division Elaine
Fraser and her partner Kathy Postill
also finished first.
Congratulations Elaine, Kathy,
Andy, John and Norm on your wins.
Ted Nelson’s teaching was on
attitudes and the mountains people
face in life. This week’s mountain
was teaching. This week’s reading
was Matthew 5: 1-12.
Lou Godfrey and Sandra Kerr
were the winners of the Lions
hockey pool.
Coffee Club met on Thursday with
20 people in attendance.
Division tournament continues
with singles play on April 4.
On Sunday afternoon the Queen’s
Hotel in Seaforth held a blind draw
doubles dart game. This Sunday's
winner was Andy Lubbers and his
partner. Congratulations Andy.

The kindergarten students of Hullett school proudly
displayed their personal portfolios for parents on the
evenings of March 25 and 26. By browsing through the
work, parents were able compare how their child has
progressed since September. Many parents also noted that
their children had shown improved academic ability,
