On Tuesday the fed steers and heifers sold at prices $2 higher. Cows traded on a market $1 lower. On Thursday the veal traded on a steady market with thel ambs also selling steady but on a strong active trade. On Friday the calves sold on a steady market while the yearlings sold at prices $2 higher. There were 421 steers on offer selling from $103 to $109 with sales to $119.50. Allan Lewis, Ailsa Craig, consigned one limousin steer weighing 1,415 lbs. which sold to Norwich Packers for $119.50. His overall offering of twenty-five steers averaged 1,610 lbs. selling for an average of $103.60. Sixteen steers consigned by Joel Martin, Paisley, averaged 1,409 lbs. selling for an average of $105.61 with his top limousin steer weighing 1,270 lbs. which was purchased by Holly Park Meat Packers for $118.75. Their overall offering of two steers averaged 1,505 lbs. selling for an average of $108.88 Two steers consigned by Garvin Young, Badjeros, averaged 1,105 lbs. selling for an average of $107.44 with his top blue steer weighing 1,145 lbs. selling to Norwich Packers for $112.50.
