Tickets go on sale to the gener­ al public this week. The box office officially opened March 17 at 10 a.m. The 2003 season begins with Anne Chislett and David Archibald’s musical romp, The Perilous Pirate’s Daughter. The special school matinees are selling well already. Leaving Home, the Canadian classic by David French is next, followed by the highly-antici­ pated Hippie by Paul Thompson, the creator of The Outdoor Donnellys, along with Jonathan Garfinkel and Kelly McIntosh. Midwifery meets modem medi­ cine head on in the premiere of Having Hope at Home by David S. Craig, and the season ends with Huron County’s funniest farmer in Ted John’s Bamboozled: He Won’t Come in From the Barn, Part II. Ladies are reminded to mark April 5 on their calendars and to plan to attend the ninth annual Women’s Day Out, sponsored by the Blyth United Church Women. This year’s event themed a Circle of Friends, is being held at the Blyth Memorial Hall and the Bainton Art Gallery. Registration is at 9 a.m. The pro­ gramme runs from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The keynote speaker is Kate Young of London, the director of community relations at The New PL. She is the former news anchor on the London and Wingham television sta­ tions. Eduard Klassen of Stratford will provide musical and inspirational entertainment. He is a Paraguayan folk harpist. Musical entertainment will also be provided in the form of two different dance demonstrations. Andrea’s Dance Studio II will be providing entertainment, as will the Clinton Wheel and Dealers, with a square dance demonstration. Once again there will be a smor­ gasbord luncheon. Attendees are invited to visit the many displays and demonstrations that help to make this an entertaining day. If interested in learning how to preserve memories through the art of scrapbooking, a creative memories consultant will be present for a demonstration. As well, the art of quilting will be represented by the Goderich Quilters Guild. If you are looking for craft projects Gwen Gritnon will have some ideas. And nothing says spring more than flowers, so Sylvia Nonkes of Spring Breezes Greenhouse will offer inspiration for your garden. As well, there are many volunteer organizations present to educate and entertain. Throughout the day there will be opportunities to visit the toonie sale, featuring an array of many home­ made and interesting items. Everyone who attends will have a chance to take home one of the many door prizes.
