KENNETH ROSS FISCHER Kenneth Ross Fischer of Brussels passed away Sunday, March 16, 2003 in his home. Doris and all the family surrounded him by his bed side. Ken was in his 76th year. Ken was bom Dec. 5, 1927 at Lot 11, Cone. 11, Grey Twp., the youngest son of John Fischer and Ettie Smalldon. He resided at the farm from the time he married Doris until 1980 when they moved to Tumberry Street in Brussels. Even though they lived in town, Ken continued to farm and he loved it. Farming was his true passion. He was quite proud of his John Deere machinery...’’Runs like a Deere” he would say often truly believing the cleaner and shinier his machine, the better it would work. During the winter months, after the harvest, there was no time for rest. Once there was snow, Ken could be found driving the John Deere around town, the snowblower on the back, clean ing out various driveways, the arena lot and Huronlea. As all who knew him know, Ken liked to laugh, tease and have fun too. He loved to shoot a game of pool with friends and family and was quite good at it. On Saturday nights, Ken and Doris could be found at various dance halls tearing up the dance floor. They were great to watch and pretty smooth. In the last few months, Ken missed all his buddies at the coffee shop, the great conversations, the friendships and just joking around. He will be truly missed and always loved. Mourning his loss most deeply is his wife Doris (White) and children Carol Vandenberg of London, Sandra Neable and her husband Barry of Listowel, Bonnie Boyd and her husband Doug of Kurtzville, Murray Fischer and his wife Marlene of Brussels, Bruce Fischer and his wife Rhonda of Brussels and Kendra Cardiff and her husband Scott of Brussels. He was the dear brother of Velma Ellacott of Kitchener, Charlie Fischer and his wife Laura of Brussels and Bill Fischer and his wife Phyllis of Cambridge. Ken was also loved by his 16 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and his many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by an infant daughter, sister Elsie Thuell and brothers George, Jack and Wilfrid.
