PEOPLE AROUND
WALTON
Our condolences to the Rogerson
family on the passing of Isabel
Rogerson. Her local family includes
Ken and Marg Rogerson and Glenn
and Marg McClure. She also has two
out-of-the-area daughters, Helen and
Joan.
The village of Walton is plus one
this week with the arrival of Matthew
Heath Campbell. He is the new son of
Jim and Marcie Campbell and big
sister Meagan says “he’s pretty.”
Congratulations to the Campbells.
There’s activity at the former
Shortreed house as new owner Rob
Proctor is busy doing some
renovating. We welcome him.
Brandon McGavin is home. He
went to London hospital on
Wednesday and now sports a full-
length cast on his broken leg. He
didn’t require surgery after all but
will have a long recovery. He’s
looking forward to getting to school
in his wheelchair, and seeing his
friends again.
There was a shower held for bride-
to-be Amy Shortreed at the home of
Murray and Maxine Houston. Jillian
Houston and about a dozen friends
gathered to enjoy supper and present
Amy with some lovely gifts. They
enjoyed catching up with one another
and had a social evening enjoying the
hot tub and staying over.
The McGavin families enjoyed
Sunday down at Bryan and Heather
Kelso’s. They started the day by
attending church at Granton United
Church to witness the baptism of
Bryan and Heather’s youngest son
Jared. They had lunch at the Kelso
home, then went family skating at the
Kirkton skating centre.
Congratulations to Graeme Craig
who has assumed his position as a

Christ is Waiting.
The Time for the Young at Heart
was on the importance of names.
Rev. Joan Tuchlinsky explained how
all children of God are named
Christians.
Kevin Wilbee read the scripture.
Rev. Joan’s reflection was Sticks
and Stones and how name calling
cannot hurt us. God does not define
us so why do we call people names
and define them, she said.
The offering was taken by Don
Baan and Mark Wilbee.
