The children’s story was about walking a tightrope over the Niagara River. Rev. Eugen Bannerman asked them if they had ever walked a tightrope. There have been 12 people walk the rope over the Niagara River. He explained that most people carry a stick with them for balance. One man had walked the rope over and back, then asked those watching if anyone would ride on this back. One person offered who happened to be his manager. Rev. Bannerman explained that the man had great faith in this man, so they walked over the river and back. People too must have faith in God and He will carry them through life, he said. Dramatized lectionary reading was from Genesis 9: 8-17, read by Rev. Bannerman, Brandilyn, Amanda and Wyatt Bearss. The responsive reading was the 22nd Psalm. The gospel reading was from Mark 9: 2- 9 and Hebrews 11: 17-19. Rev. Bannerman’s message to the adults was Abraham’s Extraordinary Faith. Faith is hearing what God wants and then doing it. Rev. Bannerman related an experience he had had while preparing for the ministry, how God had answered his prayers and meditation. Today people pray and meditate that God will intervene and help them with their daily lives. The benediction was followed by (the singing of the Choral Benediction.
