It is best to keep children, six y-^rs of age and younger away trom animals, especially in livestock-handling areas. The best way to keep children safe is to teach them how to recognize the hazards on their family farm. Parents and caregivers must explain and enforce safety measures. It is a responsibility and a part of a safe and healthy lifestyle because injuries are no ‘accident’ - they are predictable and preventable. The Huron County Health Unit urges residents who live and work on and near farms to make safety your child’s “game”...this week and all summer long.
