qualify
On March I the Legion held its
District C darts in Milverton. There
were 32 singles players, 32 doubles
players and 32 four-person teams in
attendance. The top four players or
teams qualify for provincials. From
the Auburn area John Verwey and
Andy Lubbers will be travelling to
Belleville to play in the doubles
event on March 14 at the
provincials.
On March 2, Darts Ontario Zone 3
held its final shoot of the season at
the Clinton Legion. After a lot of
tiebreakers it was finally determined
who was going to provincials.
Local people who did well were
Anita Little and John Verwey,
finishing first overall in mixed
doubles; Audrey Patterson finishing
first overall in ladies singles.
John Verwey and Andy Lubbers
will be playing in the men’s singles.
Elaine Fraser will also be playing in
the ladies singles. Fraser and
Lubbers will try to qualify for mixed
doubles at the director’s shoot on
The Londesboro Card Party is
Wednesday, March 12 instead of
Tuesday as was reported is last
week’s paper. Sorry for any
inconvenience this may have
caused.
The Lions hockey pool winner is
Brenda Campbell. Second place was
Bud Chamney.
Anyone wishing to be a part of

April 1. Recipes can be mailed to

Tracy McPhee, 112 John St.,
Auburn, or brought directly to the

memorial service for their father
Arthur Hallam at Huronview on
Feb. 25. Fran Donohue led the
service. Jeanette Sears and Jen Elliot
provided music, accompanied by a
harp, violin, and piano. The staff
provided flowers and some of the
staff attended the service.
Keith Machan was moved into
Goderich Place at the end of last
week.
Heather, Griffin and Catie Mac
Donald were down to Ottawa to visit
her Dad (Grandpa).
The Auburn Lions club meeting
will be held March 5 at 7:15 p.m. at
Auburn Community Hall.
Auburn Lions Pancake Breakfast
will be held on March 9 from 9 a.m.
to noon at the Auburn Community
Hall.

Marg and Charlie Fraser had a
weekend guest, their son David
Fraser from Saskatoon
Saskatchewan. David is in the
Canadian Armed Forces and will be
at Camp Borden for the next two
weeks for training.
Rev. Wilbert Schwindt’s message
at Knox United Church was

and 14-18.
