There were seven tables of euchre
in play al lhe Women’s Institute Hall
on Wednesday. Feb. 26.
Winners were: high lady. Viola
Adams; second high lady. Jane
Grasby; most lone hands. Mary
Taylor; low lady. Eileen Miller; high
Students do well at free throw
The following students
represented the school al lhe Knights
of Columbus free throw competition
at the Wingham Public School on
Saturday, Feb. 1: Ellen Cook,
Kaytee Richmond, Brandon Chaffe,
Greg Dodds, Tammy Freiburger,
Tammy Hewitt, Jordan Smith,
Mathew Stevenson, Baillie Bell,
Public School student, talks about
phobias and wins great praise for
doing so.
Hussey was inspired to use
phobias for the topic of her class
speech after seeing some rather
man, Allan Edgar; second high man,
Stuart Chamney; most lone hands,
Mervyn Schneider; low man, Harry
McCombie.
The next euchre is Wednesday,
March 5 at 8 p.m,
A shoot party was held at the
Amber Delisle, Robbie Marriott,
Brad Haines, Staci Dunbar, Avary
Erazo, Janisa Cloakey, Brandon
Kellington and Carter Cloakey.
Out of nine categories East
Wawanosh came home with five
first-place finishes and two second-
place finishes. Congratulations to
Kaytee Richmond, Brandon Chaffe,
unusual fears expressed on the TV
show Maury.
Her comedic and dramatic
delivery has won her an opportunity
to advance beyond the local
competitions in the Royal Canadian
Legion speaking contest.
After winning at her school, she
competed against six other schools
in Wingham then moved on to
Clinton this past weekend.
With her first place finish, Hussey
will speak in Meaford, March 22.
Though she has advanced to the
Clinton level before, Hussey said
this is her first win,.
“My whole family is happy for
me. I am the first one to get to this
level.”
Her enjoyment of speaking in
public is evident and she plans to use
her skill in future endeavours.
“I definitely want to be an actress.
Maybe the next Cameron Diaz,” she
laughs. “It is my dream. Acting is
my favourite thing to do.”
There are so many people out there who do
so much to improve their community.

Casemore; second high lady, Lois
Chamney; most shoots, Muriel
Coultes; low lady, Shirley Carter;
high man, Glen Sellers; second high
Robbie Marriott, Staci Dunbar and
Janisa Cloakey who finished first.
Also, congratulations to Ellen Cook
and Brad Haines who placed second.
All first-place winners went on to
compete in the next level of
competition at St. Anne’s Secondary
School in Clinton last Saturday, Feb.
22. Robbie Marriott and Janisa
Cloakey placed first again. Kaytee,
Brandon and Staci all placed second
in their age groups.
Robbie and Janisa will go on to
the next level of competition in
London on Friday, March 7.
Student council has planned an
Irish Spirit Day for Monday 17.
Students are asked to dress in green
and there will be a chocolate coin -
Pot of Gold Hunt, for kindergarten
to Grade 4 students.
The Grade 8 girls will be attending
an Options Unlimited conference on
Thursday, March 20 in Seaforth.
This conference will given them an
opportunity to look at different
career options they may consider for
their future.
The Ron Morrish presentation
Secrets of Discipline has been
rescheduled to Tuesday, March 25 at
7 p.m. in the school auditorium.
The student council has planned a
Formal Dress Spirit Day and a Prom
dance for students in Grades 5-8 on
Thursday, March 27.
Students are asked to wear formal
attire, suits, ties, dresses to school
that day.

May Rinn has returned home after
suffering a stroke and having been a
patient at Wingham and District
Hospital for two and a half months.
Friends and neighbours wish May
all the best as she continues to
improve day by day.
The World Day of Prayer services
planned for Knox United Church,
Belgrave on Friday, March 7 have
been cancelled due to a funeral in
the village. Please attend a
neighbouring World Day of Prayer
Service if you wish.
The Belgrave Seniors Community
Club meeting scheduled for.Friday,
march 7 at
