Snow-
filled
activities
at WLS
The Walton Little School toddler
class has been working on snow-
related activities. But due to the
rather stormy weather, they have
been unable to explore the snow
outdoors, so they brought the snow
indoors to their water table. The
toddlers have been able to examine
the properties of ice, snow and water.
They even built an indoor snowman.
Their favourite book this week has
been Snowballs by Lois Ehlert.
The pre-schoolers have also been
studying winter and snow. They
observed what happened to snow
when it was brought inside. They
noticed how dirty it really was, a
good reason not to eat snow. They
tried to guess how long it would take
for it to melt. It took all day.
They have been enjoying the class
igloo where they can read books with
a friend. They have been doing lots
of painting and playing.
A new group of senior pre
schoolers have formed The Acorns
inspired by Great oaks from little
acorns grow. This group has eight
four-and-a-half to five-year-olds
learning a lot of new things.
The pre-school class has been
spelling their names with snow
letters. They have been playing a
mitten match game and discussing
their favourite winter activities.
It was birthday luncheon on
Wednesday at the Walton Inn for two
people. David Griffiths was with his
wife Karen and Marie Coutts was
joined by Mary Humphries and
Leona McDonald.
Our local drainage contractors

A Review of activities at
SEAFORTH COMMUNITY HOSPITAL
Cold, Flu, & Norwalk VIRUS SEASON IS UPON US ALL
VISITORS are strongly encouraged to STOP and WASH YOUR
HANDS at the handwashing station/infection Control display BEFORE
entering and upon LEAVING INPATIENT AREA. A waterless,
sanitizing solution is provided in a convenient pump dispenser; no
towels are required. Your co-operation will decrease the risk of infection
to our vulnerable elderly and lowered immune system patients.
Influenza symptoms include: abrupt onset of cough and fever,
headache, sore throat, aching muscles, general feeling of unwellness, or
upper respiratory infection.
Norwalk virus unlike influenza, causes vomiting and diarrhea. You may
also experience 1-3 days of nausea, fever and stomach cramps. This is a
highly infectious virus that spreads easily from person to person contact
with contaminated hands and objects e.g. taps, bathrooms, doorknobs,
etc. If diarrhea is bloody and/or accompanied by a high fever or if
symptoms last longer than 72 hours, medical attention is recommended.
You must be symptom free of vomiting/diairliea a minimum of 48 hours
prior to your retu rn to work, school or other public areas.
If you are experiencing cold, flu or Norwalk-like symptoms, PLEASE
reschedule your hospital visit until you are well.
Student Volunteer Opportunity applications are now being accepted

There were lots of people huddled
around their TVs on Sunday to
watch the Super Bowl. The crowd at
our house was divided on the teams
to cheer for, but Tampa Bay fans
were the loudest.

Jonah, topic at Duffs
Congregants attending Duff's
United Church were greeted by
Helen Brenie and Rod Fritz on the
third Sunday after Epiphany.
When the children were called
forward for their time Joan
Tuchlinsky told the story of Jonah
and the Whale. She said the story
was not the whole truth but the
moral or truth was in the story. It
was because Jonah tried to run away
from what God called him to do that
he encountered the whale. The
whale helped Jonah to understand
that it is sometimes hard to do what
God wants us to do.
The scripture story of Jonah was
read by Gloria Wilbee.

Joan's reflection carried on the
story. After Jonah partially fulfilled
what God asked him to do, God

and evil ways.
