TOWNSEND. The family of the
late Dorothy Townsend would like
to thank all those who phoned, sent
cards and flowers, brought food,
stopped to talk, made donations or
tackled the winter weather to come
to visitation and the funeral. Extra
efforts by Whitney-Ribey Funeral
Home staff, and the entire family,
were greatly appreciated. Thank
you to Rev. Nicholas Vandermey
for his special message, and
thoughtful visits. The musical
tribute of Scottish and waltz
favourites by Carol Carter was
beautiful. We are thankful to Stan
and Steven Johns and Les Falconer
of Turner’s Cemetery for your
work on that snowy day, allowing
us to complete Mom’s wish. Our
sincere thanks to Matt Haney for
completing his services so
willingly and capably, and to
Wayne Hugill for his part in the
interment. Thanks to the nursing
staff of Seaforth Hospital, and we
cannot thank enough the staff of
Seaforth Manor, Maplewood
Manor and Dr. Edwards for the
great care given to Mom over the
past years. The delicious luncheon
provided by the Presbyterian ladies,
and recruits, during the busy
holiday season was enjoyed by
everyone. Gerald’s loving eulogy
rekindled happier memories of
years spent with someone who had
a great sense of humour and who
truly cherished her family and
