Donations of cash, children's gifts and wheeled walkers,
totalling $8,500, were made to a number of organizations
by the Huron County Junior Farmers during a special
evening held in Clinton. On hand to make the donations on
behalf of the Junior Farmers were, front, from left: Joe

19 bulls on offer, avg. $55 to $85, top $90
Total receipts for Brussels
Livestock for the week ending Dec.
20 were 2,297 head of cattle, 1,272
lambs and goats.
On Tuesday the fed steers and
heifers sold at prices $2 higher. The
cows also sold on a market $1 to $2
higher. On Thursday the veal sold at
prices $2 to $3 lower. The lambs
sold under pressure. On Friday all
classes and weights of stockers sold
on a good strong steady market.
There were 543 steers on offer
selling from $104 to $110 with sales
to $122. Jonathon Murray, Ripley,
consigned one gold steer weighing
1,140 lbs. which sold to Highland
Packers for $122. Three limousin
steers consigned. by Merkley Farms,
Wroxeter, averaged 1,288 lbs.
selling for an average of $111.97
with their top steer weighing 1,285
lbs. selling to Norwich Packers for
$119.50. M. C. Oldfield, Brussels,
consigned thirty-seven black steers
averaging 1,323 lbs. which sold for
an average of $111.66 with top steer
weighing 1,210 lbs. selling to
Dominion Meats for $117.50.

$111.05 with sales up to $116.75.

consignment of eleven steers
averaged 1,610 lbs. selling for an
average of $107.46. Five red steers

This is the third year that HCJF
has supported Huron County
Christmas Bureau.

which each received two new
wheeled walkers. Cash donations
were made to Huron County United
Way, Huron/Bruce chapter of
MADD, Huron County Crime
Stoppers, Huron County Humane
Society, Child Find Ontario and
Slice of Huron.
Huron County Junior Farmers is
an organization dedicated to
providing social, recreational,
educational and leadership-
development opportunities for rural
youth age 15-29. Meetings are held

Wroxeter, weighed 1,215 lbs. which
sold for $76.50. Ron Douglas,

There were 19 bulls on offer
selling from $55 to $85 with sales to

offer. Beef sold $100 to $130;
Holstein, $95 to $105; Plain
Holstein, $65 to $80. Don Eadie,

veal heifer weighed 685 lbs. which
sold for $130 and one limousin veal
heifer weighing 685 lbs. selling for
$123. One gold veal steer consigned
by Mark and Paul Pennington,
weighed 695 lbs. selling to Holly
Park Meat Packers for $127. Their
overall offering of seven veal calves
averaged 685 lbs. for an -average
price of $109.90. Curtis Dettman,
Clifford, consigned two black veal
