The Huron County Health Unit nominated her for the award. McEwin sums up the criteria for the Peter Wong Award through her commitment to the youth of Huron County and the fight against impaired driving. She and her OSAID groups have organized numerous campaigns and programs over the last nine years. Every month of the school year, McEwin and her students try to run a sober driving campaign.
