The Branch was pleased to hear
that another of our Comrades has
been honoured with the presentation
of the Queen's Jubilee Medal.
Branch member Comrade Eric Ross,
who is also Deputy District
Commander of zone Cl was pre-
sented with the medal by Provincial
President John Alger at the
Provincial Council meeting at
Dominion Command in Aurora.
Comrade Eric has been active in
the Legion beginning with Branch,
then Zone and now District activi-
ties. We congratulate Eric on his
well-deserved honour.

ful and enthusiastically received
summer exhibition curated by
graphic designer, illustrator and
board trustee, Scott McKowen.
Dec. 24 from 3 - 6 p.m., closed Dec.
25, 26 and Jan. 1.
There is a general meeting
Thursday, Dec. 19 at 6:30 p.m. All
comrades are invited to attend.
Our condolences from the Branch
to Comrades Don and Barb Dunbar
on the passing of his sister in
Goderich last week.
Attendance figures and revenue
exceeded original projections due to
the quality and international scope
of the exhibition as well as the
inclusion of an overview of
Stratford Festival posters from the
past 50 years.
"We are very proud to be able to
join in the celebration of 50 years of
the Stratford Festival by including
the posters loaned from the
Festival's archives. We are equally

On Sunday, Nov. 24, Brenda
McEwin, educational assistant for
the Avon Maitland District School
Board was presented with the Peter
Wong Award in Toronto, to recog-
nize her dedication to the cause of
drinking and driving. The Huron
County Health Unit nominated her
for the award.
McEwin sums up the criteria for
the Peter Wong Award through her
commitment to the youth of Huron
County and the fight against
impaired driving. She and her
OSAID groups have organized
numerous campaigns and programs
over the last nine years.
Every month of the school year,
McEwin and her students try to run
a sober driving campaign. The cam-
paigns sometimes simply involve
the distribution of suckers with the
message Don't be a Sucker - Arrive
Alive, to something on a larger
scale like Safe Grad Tradeshow that
was offered in April 2002.

proud to have this major exhibition
reach a wider audience through its
presentation at the Design Exchange
in Toronto. This past summer was
among one of our most successful
and we are thrilled to have that suc-
cess continue at the Design
Exchange," says Director/Curator
Robert Windrum.
A reduced version of the exhibi-
tion will also be presented in the
new year at the National Arts Centre
in Ottawa. The Ottawa presentation
has been made possible through the
generous support of a local Stratford
businessman.

McKowen, Canada.
A special look at the Polish poster
tradition is also included.
