Pete is the son of Pete and Lanie Albers and Leisa is the daughter of Ross and Fran McCall. Attending the bride and groom were maid of honour Lacey McCall and bridesmaids Tanya Franken and Valerie Turner. Flowergirls were Marina Glanville and Natalie Fear. Best man was Paul Albers and groomsmen were Matt McCall and Pat Hallahan. Ringbearers were Jonathon Blake, Cody Glanville and'Andrew Fear. Ushers were Jamie Hallahan and Luke McCall. Readers at the ceremony were Ann Marie Fear, Patricia Harburn and Debbie Riddle. The newlyweds enjoyed a brief honeymoon in Niagara Falls and this December spent a week in the Dominican Republic. Centre production raises funds to fight violence The North American touring production of Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues, the celebrated and provocative play that has become a cultural phenomenon worldwide, will play Kitchener for six performances at The Centre In The Square. Jan. 28 to Jan. 30 at 8 p.m. Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. and Feb. 1 at 2 p.m. and 8 p:m. The Vagina Monologues, based on over 200 interviews with a diverse group of women from around the globe, has grown from an Off- Broadway hit into an international cultural phenomenon and has been performed in over 40 countries along with two North American touring companies. It is currently booked in over 160 cities in the U.S. and Canada, and has been translated into over 35 different languages. To capture the essence of the Off- Broadway- production, which continues with a rotating trio of women, the North American tour is specifically designed to incorporate guest performers: The Centre In The Square is proud to have Margot Kidder as the star. The tour travels with two guest performers in each city. Past guest performers have included Brooke Sheilds. The Vagina Monologues is raising millions of dollars to stop violence against women and girls. In 1998 as an outgrowth of the success of the show, V-Day was born. V-Day is a non-profit organization that funds grassroots groups working to stop violence against women and girls and helping those who are survivors of violence. The text of The Vagina Monologues is the centrepiece of V- Day benefit performances that take place around the world. At V-Day 2001. which sold out Madison Square Garden (18,000 seats), Ensler was joined by such stars as Oprah Winfrey, Jane Fonda, Glenn Close, Calista Flockhart, Manta Tomei, Rosie Perez, Teri Hatcher, Lisa Gay Hamilton, Queen Latifah, Angel exhibit at Haus The Joseph Schneider Haus is presenting a heavenly host Of angels ... "from the Realms of Glory", for museum visitors to enjoy. 0 pe nedRiday, Dec. 6, the Museum's annual Christmas exhibit showcases Angels, Angels, Angels — both those depicted by artists in stained glass, textiles, ceramics, and more, alongside other more whimsical angels, envisioned and brought-to-life by more simple folk in their own special way-. Among the latter is one of the premier pieces of folk art in the Schneider Haus collections, a weathervane of a trumpeting angel Gabriel. Some spectacular examples of angel-decorated calligraphy and handwoven textiles are also featured in the exhibit, many of which have been loaned for the show by partnering museums and collectors. This year, over 800 productions of The Vagina Monologues took place on college campuses and in communities to raise funding and awareness for V Day and grassroots organizations. The professional productions of the show have raised over $5-million to date, and have served as a base for V-Day to receive matching funds from corporations. This year, V-Day should be able to give away ever $10-million. The Vagina Monologue's partners with loal charities in each community it performs in. These charities will be the recipients of funding from V-Day and monies raised from the performances.
