MARY ELLEN SHIER
Mary Ellen Shier of Kincardine
passed away at Trillium Centre,
Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002. She was 99.
Born to Ben Lockhart and Kate
(Cluss), in West Wawanosh Twp. on
Nov. 24, 1913, Mrs. Shier was pre-
deceased by her husband, John Shier
of Armow (1990), whom she mar-
ried. in 1979 and husband Stuart
Robinson of Blyth (1969).
She is survived by step-son Bert
Shier of Ripley, step-daughter Joan
Kirkham of Kincardine and step-
daughter-in-law Florence Shier of
Kincardine. She will be remembered
by seven step-grandchildren and
four step-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Shier was also predeceased
by her sister, Edith Lockhart.
After graduating from Stratford
Normal School, Mrs. Shier taught in
the Blyth and Goderich area for 23
years.
The graveside memorial service
will be held today,. Wednesday, Dec.
11, at 1:30 p.m. at Blyth Union
Cemetery. Rev. Dennis Chuley will
officiate.
In remembrance, donations to the
Canadian Cancer Society or the
charity of your choice would be
appreciated.
Arrangements were entrusted to
Davey-Linklater Funeral Home,
Kincardine.
JAMES (JIM) A. PATTERSON
Mr. James (Jim) A. Patterson, hus-
band of the former Pauline Weir of
RR2, Brussels passed away at
Listowel Memorial Hospital on
Monday, Dec. 9, 2002. He was in his
57th year.
He was the devoted father of
William (Bill) James Patterson and
wife Fran and Scott James Patterson
all of RR2, Brussels. He was the
very proud and loving papa of
William (Will) Hunter Patterson and
James Remington Patterson. He will
be remembered by his sisters Jean
and husband Clifford Brown and
Ruth Ann Reid of Chatham, brother
Ross Patterson of Brussels, mother-
in-law Pearl Weir of Knollcrest
Lodge, Milverton, brothers-in-law
Bill Weir and wife Norma of
Georgetown, Bob Weir of Florida
and Paul Weir of Port Stanley.
Several nieces and nephews are also
left to mourn his passing.
He was predeceased by his parents
Roy Patterson and the former
Bernice Thomas and father-in-law
Jasper Weir.
At Jim's request there will be no
visitation or funeral service.
Cremation has taken place.
Arrangements were entrusted to
Peebles Funeral Home, Atwood.
