Obituaries
ALEXANDER NORMAN
MACLEOD
Peacefully surrounded by his fam-
ily, Alexander Norman MacLeod of
Brussels passed away. on Monday,
Nov. 18, 2002 at Huronlea Home for
the Aged. Born in Dunvegan on Oct.
15, 1914, Alexander was in his 89th
year.
Alexander will be sadly missed by
his beloved wife Margaret Eleanor
(McCluer) and his children Robert
John of McGregor, Stephen
Alexander of Brussels, Neil Douglas
and his wife Dawn of Barrie and
Laurel Anne and her husband
Enrique of Oakville. He was the lov-
ing grandfather of Craig, Katherine,
Christopher, Kenneth, Katlyn,
Guinevere, Andrew, Margarita,
Laurelita, Christinita, Sarita, and
Peter. Mr. MacLeod was the dear
uncle of Mary and Duncan
MacDonald of MacCrimmon, Jean
and Alex Williams of Montreal and
The November meeting of the
Melville Guild was held in the
church parlour on Tuesday after-
noon, Nov. 19 with 11 members and
seven guests present. Mary Huether
and Janna Dodds were in charge of
the devotions.
The meeting was opened with
Mrs. Dodds leading the Call to
Worship which was read responsive-
ly. Onwar'd Christian Soldiers was
sang and the scripture I Corinthians
12: 12-26 was read by Mrs. Dodds,
followed by prayer.
Mrs. Huether gave a reading on
the life of John McCrae and every-
one repeated in Flanders Fields.

Dunvegan.
He was predeceased by his parents
John Norman and Catherine Anne
MacLeod, sisters Marion
MacKinnon, Mary Campbell, and
Katherine Bartlett and brothers
John, Ian and Neil.
Friends were received by the fam-
ily from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the
Schimanski Family Funeral Home,
401 Albert St., Brusse,s where the
funeral was conducted on
Wednesday, Nov. 20 at 2 p.m. with
Rev. Brent Kipfer officiating.
Tributes to Mr. MacLeod were
readings and remembrances by his
children Robert, Stephen, Neil, and
Laurel as well as hymns How Great
Thou Art, Amazing Grace and
Crown Him with Many Crowns.
The burial took place in Kenyon
Presbyterian Church Cemetery,
Dunvegan, on Thursday, Nov. 21 at
4 p.m. officiated by Mrs. Brynn
The roll call was answered with a
special thoughts on Remembrance
Day. The Church is One Foundation
was sung.
The collection was taken and the
treasurer's report was read by
Eluned McNair.
A thank you card was received
from Mary Carr thanking the Guild
for the gift.
President, Leona Armstrong con-
ducted the business which included
a discussion on sending poinsettias
to the shut-ins for Christmas, and
shoe boxes for the needy children.
She thanked Mrs. Huether, Mrs,.
Dodds for the devotions and wel-

ARTHUR HALLAM
Arthur Hallam, formerly of
Auburn, passed away at Huronview
Home, Clinton on Saturday, Nov.
16, 2002. He was in his 93rd year.
Mr. Hallam was born in
Loughbrough, Leicester County,!
England on Dec. 20, 1909.
He was a member of Morning Star
Lodge A.F.& A.M. #309 Carlow.
He was the beloved husband of
the late Gladys Mary Steep Hallam
who predeceased him in 1979. He
was the loving father of Grace and
Jim Cartwright of Auburn, Evelyn
Robichaud of Upper Dundee, NB,
Arthur and Donna Hallam of
Kelowna, BC, Raymond and Klaske
Hallam of Goderich, Elizabeth
Debold and her friend Ken
MacKenzie of Goderich, Joyce and
Joseph Essery of Vanastra, Ralph
corned the guests from Kinlough.
Mrs. Dodds sang a solo, Let There
Be Peace and Mrs. Huether read a
poem from the Glad Tidings. Mrs.
Dodds read a story Will My
Daughter Remember My Name?
and Anita Hallam of RR3, Goderich
and Howard and Marie Hallam of
Rostock. He was also loved and
sadly missed by 21 grandchildren
and 23 great-grandchildren and by
one great-great-granddaughter.
Mr. Hallam was predeceased by
daughter, Lois Ruegar in 1999, one
infant son, two sons-in-law, Lucien
Robichaud and Elmer Debold, four
grandchildren, two great-grandchil-
dren, one sister, Elsie Hallam and
four brothers, George, Charles,
Lodge hosts
euchre
Morning Star Lodge held a suc-
cessful casserole supper and euchre
party.
Seven tables stayed for euchre.
Prizes were awarded to: high lady,
Jean Nethery; high man, Bill
Kellington; low lady, Mary Bryans;
low man, Bill Craig; lone hands,
Shirley Kingsley, Judy Hahn; ten
tally card winners were drawn.
Sharing the wealth were Bill
Kellington and Stewart Musgrove.
The door prize was won by isabelle
Craig.
The next euchre will be held in
February.

He was the special friend of the
late Edith Louden:
Cremation has taken place.
A memorial service was held at
Ontario Street- United Church,
Clinton, on SatOrday, Nov. 23 at 11
a.m. A Morning Star service was
held at 10 a.m.
Interment of cremated remains
took place at Ball's Cemetery,
Hul lett Twp.
Honorary pallbearers -were Willis
Bromley and Les Varga.
Donations to the Arthritis Society,
Shriner's Hospital burn unit or the
charity of one's choice would be
appreciated as expressions of sym-
pathy.
Funeral arrangements were
entrusted to Beattie-Falconer
Funeral Homes Ltd.
