The first blustery winter weather
of the fall made travel difficult for
those attending the Hullett Masonic
Lodge #568 annual ladies night,
However approximately 50 persons
attended at the Londesboro
Community Hall on Nov. 1. Ladies
of the United Church served the
roast beef dinner.
John Jewitt gave the toast to the
ladies, to which Mary Salverda
replied. The toast to the visitors that
evening was given by Bill Vincent.
Dennis Langridge of the Wingham
Lodge replied.
Masonic Widows' pins were
presented to the six widows of
former Masonic members who were
in attendance — Genevieve Allen,
Florence Cartwright, Florence_
Nesbitt, Ella (Jewitt) Flood,
Geraldine (Johnston) Dale and Alma
(Tyndall) Finnegan. The pins are a
reminder of the widows' ties to the
Londesboro Lodge. The ladies were
encouraged to wear the pins,
particularly when travelling, as
Masons everywhere will recognize
them and offer help and friendship.
Ten ladieS not able to attend the
banquet will also receive widows'
pins — Marg Anderson, Rene Snell.

lYiitrict.
In his entertaining speech Bruce
paid tribute to the ladies present and
spoke of the advantages he sees to
being a Mason. Further he made a
comparison between masonry and
motherhood.
Bruce encouraged everyone to put
more life into each day rather than
more days into life, to take a chance
in life and do the best one can. He
was thanked by Allan Bosman.
