It was a return to the ice for the Sr. A Crusaders as players from Brussels, Blyth, Belgrave
and surrounding area got together to reform the team that had folded in the late 1990s. The

Chapman and Shayne Cochrane.
Clinton took away the edge just
minutes into the third. As the clock
ticked down, White got his hattrick,
with assists from Nathan Prior and
Chase Chapman, to get the lead
back, but Clinton, two minutes later
scored the last and tieing
goal.
On Oct. 19, the team hosted
Mitchell AE and skated away with a
7-2 win.
White and Ropp got Brussels on
the board in the first with assists
credited to Chris Jutzi and White.
Jutzi then shot one home in the
second to increase the Brussels edge.
Chase Chapman earned the assist.
Greg Bowers slapped in two before
the buzzer, with help from White, on
both, Andrew McDonald and Scott
Phillips.
Mitchell finally scored in the
third, but White skated in alone to
cancel it just minutes later. Mitchell
tried once more, only to see their
second goal come to nothing as well.
McDonald, set up by White finished
the scoring for both sides with less
than four minutes remaining in the
game.
Crusaders wait
to taste victory
Brussels Bantams are- beginning
their season well with a tie and a
win.
On Oct. 16 the squad travelled to
Clinton and played to a .4-4
finish.
Matt McClinchty got Brussels on
the board in the first to even the
score minutes after the hosts had
taken the early lead. Clinton lit the
light once more to.go into the second

growing population consistently
places its schools either near or over
capacity.
There is one suggestion of possible
imminent change in the Listowel area,
however, with the report stating
"available pupil places at Wallace
(Public School in Gowanstown) and
the proximity of this school to
Listowel suggest that a border
realignment within Listowel will help
to alleviate overcrowding in Listowel
schools at this time."
That amounts to a Suggestion that
some Listowel students could be
asked to relocate to Gowanstown.
The St. Marys area meanwhile,
presents a scenario that is described in
the report as "somewhat similar to
circumstances in Mitchell," with
regards to the congregation of Grades
7 and 8 students- in the high school.
However, the authors seem to have
once again stumbled upon the
obstacle of Downie Central PS, a
facility which has been placed then
removed from the final closure list in
two previousreviews.
In short, the school, located
between St. Marys and Stratford, is
too far from any neighbouring
Schools to conveniently accommodate
all students, and the report suggests
that congregation of St. Marys-area
senior elementary students "would
not result in significant savings as no
consolidation of student space would
result." •

The Brussels Crusaders were
looking to get in the win column this
past weekend after three lopsided

Friday as the team hosts Hensall at 9
p.m. at the Blyth arena. Sunday the
team hosts Monkton at 2:30 p.m.. at
the Brussels, Morris and Grey
Community Centre.

moved to Milverton Public School, to
eliminate the use of portable
classrooms at Mornington. And
trustees were asked to "direct that
administration prepare a report on the
viability of "relocating the entire
student body at Seaforth Public
School into the former Seaforth
District High School building." That
change was recommended during the
board's previous accommodation
review, but was reversed just before
trustees made their final decisions last
February.
