THE CITIZEN, WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 9, 2002. PAGE 13.
Vehicle stolen in Morris
The regular meeting of the
Belgrave Community Club was held
in the arena on Friday, Oct. 5.
President Lorne Campbell
welcomed everyone and opened the
meeting with the singing of 0
Canada.
Ada Taylor gave a reading about
the turkey, and one on preparing
food for Thanksgiving.
Louise Bosman introduced the
guest speaker. Bryan Allen of
Wingham. He entertained the group
with signs that tell that, you are
getting older.
Allen then went on to encourage
the members to take advantage of all
the modern technology that is out
there for their use. He told of how
much he uses the computer to put
together his talk show in the
mornings. People should be
embracing technology to get news,
keep in touch with family and share
information.
Seniors, he said, shouldn't write
themselves off as old fashioned, and
they shouldn't fear the unknown. He
encouraged the seniors to give
technology a try.
Upcoming events for the seniors to
take part in were announced:
Tuesday, Oct. 15, bus trip to the
north for theatre, cruise and dinner;
Thursday, Oct. 17, fall zone rally, at
the Betty Cardno Centre in Clinton;
shoot parties, Oct. 11 and Oct.
25.
The next meeting is Nov. 1 at 1:30
p.m.
On Oct. 6 shortly after 9:30 a.m. a
vehicle was reported stolen from a
residence on Brandon Road in the
Belgrave part of Morris-Turnberry.
The owner told police that sometime
after 1 a.m. and before 9:30 a.m. a
2002 silver Ford pickup truck was
stolen from the laneway.
The victim had left keys inside the
truck but other vehicles were around
it making the owner feel it would be
okay.
The thief pushed the two vehicles
out of the way to get the pickup
truck.
There was $3,000 worth of
damage done to them.
Later the stolen truck was
recovered in Brussels with damage
done to it in several places.
Please call the Huron OPP or
Crime Stoppers with your tips.
