THE CITIZEN, WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 9, 2002 PAGE 3
Rev. Eugen Bannerman welcomed
everyone to church on this day of
worldwide communion.
ReV. Bannerman's story for the
children was of the bush fires in
California. He told of one small
village that had logt almost
everything. The children had gone
back to see if they could find
anything amongst the ashes. One of
them found a pottery vase and
another tbund a little rabbit they had
had on a shelf. The pastor had also
found a vase that he had.
The reason they had not broken in
the fire was that they had been fired
before in the making and this had
kept them.
These vases were like life, he said,
as sometimes people have hard times,
but God helps them through them for
better times ahead.
Rev. Bannerman's message to the
adults was that even Jesus spoke to
people of other faiths and visited in
their homes. Jesus spoke to the
Samaritan woman at the well even
though He knew she had been
married five times and was living
with a man she had not married.
