Agriculture Brussels Livestock report 112 head of veal on offer, Holsteins top $101 Total receipts for the week ending Sept. 6 were 1,974 head of cattle. 569 lambs and goats. On Tuesday the fed steers and heifers traded at prices fully steady. The cows also sold on a steady market. On Thursday the veal traded at prices $2 to $5 higher while the lambs sold at prices steady to last week. On Friday all weights and classes of stockers sold on a steady trade. There were 244 steers on offer selling from $98 to $104 with sales to $107. Joel Martin, Paisley, consigned one limousin steer weighing 1,170 lbs. selling to Dominion Meats for $107. His overall consignment of eight steers averaged 1,441 lbs. selling for an average of $97.03. Three limousin steer consigned by Lauderlea Farms, Listowel, averaged 1,375 lbs. selling to Norwich Packers for $104. Their overall offering of ten steers averaged 1,433 lbs. selling for an average price of $101.30. Lorne Benedict, Kerwood, consigned twenty-four steers averaging 1,425 lbs. selling for an average of $99.30 with his top three limousin steers averaging 1,412 lbs.- selling to Ryding Regency for $101.75. One black steer consigned by David Bowles, Brussels, weighed 1,230 lbs. selling to Dominion Meats for $100.50. His overall offering of five steers averaged 1,321 lbs. selling for an average of $98.09. One limousin cow consigned by Dave McClinchey, Auburn, weighed 1,525 lbs. and was .purchased by Levinoff Meat Products Ltd. for $70.50. James Winger consigned one holstein cow weighing 1,455 lbs. which sold to Taylor Packing Co. Inc. for $68.50. There were 12 bulls on offer selling from $66.50 to $80 with sales to $82. Adam Johnson, Listowel, consigned one charolais buil weighing 2,030 lbs. which sold for $82. One limousin bull consigned by Ed Watson, Blyth, weighed 2,020 lbs. selling for $80. There were 112 head of veal on offer. Beef - not enough beef calves to establish price; Holstein, sold $84 to $100 with sales to $101.50; Plain Holstein, $60 to $80. Peter VanSickle, Teeswater, consigned one black veal steer weighing 700 lbs. which sold. to Holly Park Meat Packers for $108. One charolais veal steer consigned by Frank Meuelensteen, Atwood, weighed 670 lbs. selling to Nature Veal Service for $101.50. Mark Pfeffer, Clifford, consigned six holstein veal steers averaging 639 lbs. selling to Nature Veal Service for $100.50. Lambs. 50 - 64 lbs., sold $100 to $127; 65 - 79 lbs., $100 to $130; 80 - 94 lbs., $109 to $118; 95 - 109 lbs., $102 to $111; 110 lbs. and over, $100 to $103. - Goats sold $17 to $90. Sheep sold $30 to $50.
