The Walton Women's Institute had
a busy week. They served a Blyth
Theatre luncheon on Tuesday to 21
patrons, who enjoyed Walton's
quaint hall and wonderful cooks and
hospitality before travelling to Blyth
to enjoy Barnboozled.

Parents should be breathing a
sight of relief as children have
returned back to school and the
house have become quiet again.
Many parents of college and

College in Oshawa, Chris Blake to
Conestoga College in Kitchener,
Kelly Ann Dalton to Fanshawe in
London, Erin Beuermann to St.
Clair, Windsor. Jody Vanderveen,

meeting at the Huron Business
Centre in Seaforth on Wednesday. In
charge of the meeting was Helen

on the steps to starting a small

There was a good crowd at a
community shower held for bride-
to-be Lisa Blake at St. Ambrose
Catholic Church last Monday
evening. Rita Bowers kept the
evening moving along and Lisa
received many lovely gifts.
Lisa is the daughter of Jim and
Evelyn Blake. She is marrying Chris
Stevenson, son of Bev Stevenson at
the end of September.
Returning from the summer at the
home of her parents, Larry and Dena
Kale in Calgary, is Carla Kale. She
is attending the University of
Guelph in the History and Arts
program and will be able to
weekend with grandparents,
Campbell and Edith Wey and Tom
and Bea Kale of Seaforth.
Larry and Carla drove from
Calgary this past week and Larry
spent time visiting with friends and
relatives in the area after Carla was
settled.
There's a new face at the Walton
Inn. Joining the waitress staff is
Dawn Marcuccio of Walton. She is
taking over for college-bound Tina

Last weekend the Walton Master
Brewers participated in an oldtimers
fastball tournament held in Clinton.
It is a fundraiser for the Heart and
Stroke Foundation and they had a
great time.
You must be 35 years of age to
play and 40 years of age to
pitch.
There were six teams involved
from Walton, Milton, Stratford, New
Hamburg, Exeter and Goderich.
Walton defeated Goderich 5-1,
Milton 10-1 and Exeter in a close
game 5-4 to play for the A
championship.
They played very well but lost 6-4
to New Hamburg in the final inning.
Congratulations to all who played
and our sympathy to the wives who
have listened to the moans and
groans about aching muscles this
past week.
Things are slowing down at
Walton ball park as the ball season
winds down. The Walton Bantam
girls played against Goderich Twp.
and were defeated on Monday
evening.
The Walton Intermediates are
finished the regular schedule and
have their weekend tournament in
Exeter this weekend.
The men's slo-pitch team, the
Walton Indians has finished its
season and end with a tournament at
Walton Park this weekend.
The Ladies slo-pitch league has
one regular Thursday night game
left. Their tournament is also this
weekend on the Brussels diamonds.
Motocross in the area is now done
as Auburn Hills held the last event
for close-to-home riders.
