North Huron council briefs
McDougall tender accepted
The tender from Steve McDougall
Construction was accepted by North
Huron council at the Aug. 27 1
meeting, for the concrete work at the
North Huron Wescast Community
Complex. The cost will he
$66,332.51.
Council rejected a
recommendation for Recreation and
Facilities Manager Dan Cousins to
have Maitland Engineering provide
on-site inspections during the
project.
Councillor Jeff Howson said the
$1,500 would be better spent on a
salt guard sealer to protect the
concrete.

A concrete ramp and steps will be
installed at the Wingham airport by
Phil Thompson, for a cost of $2,889.

New rates and fees were proposed
for the North Huron Wescast
Community Complex. Rates
between- the facilities in Wingham
and Blyth would become similar and
the summer ice rate would increase
10 per cent, said Cousins.

changing of rates at Colborne
Cemetery.
A bylaw covering the erection of
stop signs at intersections was
passed.
Mr. Catlin was given permission
to operate a chip wagon in Port
Albert.
A payment of $44 was made to
Sandra Marshall as compensation
Authorization was given for the
installatioh of a new roof on the
Wingham trailer park washroom and
the small building at Riverside Park,
for a cost of $2,045 and $415
respectively.

wastewater into the Blyth sewage
works will be sent to B.M. Ross and
Associates for review and comment.

payment of bills and accounts in the
amount of $531,851.77.

Association of Municipal Tax
Collectors of Ontario meeting, Sept.
15-18 in Huntsville at a cost of
$401.25.

resolution from the Municipality of
Hastings seeking the re-introduction
of the spring bear hunt.
